I've tried to let my emotions and angst over the past day come down a bit so that I can try and make a sane and rational statement about my feelings on what's transpired. This will not take long.

1, Mack Brown has done a lot for the University of Texas and while I have never been all-in with him as our coach, I respected this and applauded what he has done and wanted to say thank you.

2. To that end, I was prepared to support any parade, dedication or statue that the powers at UT wanted to honor him with just for the above reason.

3. I was prepared to laud him publicly and give him the respect that I thought he had earned for bowing out gracefully and doing what was in the "best interest of the program", which is a phrase he used often during his 16 year tenure at Texas.

4. To see what he has done this past week and culminating with what transpired last night, I have lost ALL respect for the man and the coach that is Mack Brown. He is clearly acting for what is in the best interest of himself and not for what's in the "best interest of the program." We could have had the best coach in college football today and the best since DKR and it's gone because he didn't want Saban to come here for a various number of reasons, all of which boil down to one word. Selfishness.

5. Finally, if at some point Mack decides to step down and someone brings up a statue for Mack Brown, I have a suggestion and will press hard for this to happen. I suggest that any statue or plaque dedicated to Mack Brown be placed in the men's urinal at DKR stadium This way, everyone can directly laud Mack Brown by pissing on his image and his legacy.

This is, in fact, a step down from where I was last night when I was prepared to state that I wouldn't piss on Mack Brown if he were on fire. So I have tempered my emotions considerably today.

So if this somehow gets in front of the eyes of Mack Brown or Bill Powers, please note the following. Mack, you've tarnished any legacy and good will that you might have had. You did this. Not Chip Brown, not Nick Saban and not the BMDs. You.

Mr. Powers, a lot of people went to the mat for you and your troubles with Governor Perry over these past months and you need to hear this. If not from me, then from someone else. You, sir, are a coward. If you have an issue with this, please email at hornrush@aol.com and I will personally fly to Austin and meet you and say this to your face. You are a spineless coward and you need to leave as well.

"What's in the best interest" of the University? Both of you leaving on I-35 and NEVER coming back.

Stick that in your legacy pot.

Hook'em!

Awesome post and couldn't agree more. I'd only add that Mack at 62 has acted eerily similar to scorned 8 yr old little girl who didn't get her way. Joe Jamail can take his $150M and GTFO of Austin as well for all I care.
