QB takes issue with LSU's game plan

LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson voices thoughts on gameplan for BCS Championship Game against Alabama - College Football News | FOX Sports on MSN

LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson, who struggled mightily in the Tigers' loss to Alabama in the BCS Championship Game, took issue Thursday with the team's game plan against the Crimson Tide defense.

The senior, who threw for just 53 yards in the 21-0 loss Jan. 9, told Atlanta radio station WCNN he believes the coaches made a mistake by not implementing a more pass-heavy attack.

"I think we should've spread them out a little bit more, put the ball in different passing areas, use our talent on the receiving side. We had that in as far as play-calling, we just didn't get to it," Jefferson said.

"We have great (receivers) and sometimes we just wonder why we don't use those guys. But we're not the one calling the plays. We still have to go out and execute what the coaches and coordinators are calling. We can't complain as players, but sometimes we do question that."

Jefferson added he "probably would've" changed some of the plays at the line of scrimmage, but did not have that option most of the time.

The LSU offense was so thoroughly dominated by the Alabama defense that many fans and reporters questioned why head coach Les Miles did not replace Jefferson with fellow senior Jarrett Lee. The Tigers did not cross midfield until midway through the fourth quarter.

"I definitely didn't expect for it to play like that. Alabama was a little bit more prepared than us. There was a lot of things that we should've did different to catch a rhythm on offense," said Jefferson, who is hoping to be selected in April's NFL Draft.

My take on this: If Jefferson didn't suck so bad his team might have had an opportunity to win. What an idiot.

I like this fan's take on Jefferson's performance:

His real football shoes were confiscated when the cops took the 42 pairs from his closet during the boot-to-the-head investigation. Damn Air Jordans!
