Looks like Arian Foster is a Houston Texan for at least 5 more years. Had Houston let him go they would have made one of the biggest blunders in Houston history.

I was extremely surprised the Texans ponied up and gave him the long-term deal. They didn't have to give him the dough they did. Could have waited and tagged him with the Unrestricted Free Agent tag and then tried to work a deal. This move says a lot about Rick Smith and the Texans. This was huge, and not just because they signed Foster up-front. Shows they are willing to take care of their players.

I heard Foster's speech today after signing the deal with Houston and I was taken aback. He referenced his memory of his mom having to pawn her wedding ring in order to feed the family one night. He started crying several times during his press conference and went on to say that he made up his mind when he was a kid that he never wanted his children to have to worry if they would eat dinner on a particular night or if the lights would be cut off when they got home from school.

Arian Foster is one hell of an NFL running back and equally one hell of a person.

I heard those snippets also and it is refreshing to see a professional athlete with the humility Arian Foster displayed today. I am a Cowboys fan but after I heard Foster today, I am an Arian Foster fan. We need more players with his heart in the NFL.

Foster is the real deal. he never complained about making 500K when he led the league in rushing for 2 years. He deserved a nice Payday.
