Time for some redemption baby!!! I am looking forward to some big time Texas football Saturday. McCoy and Shipley are gonna start what will become a tradition much like the one their brothers started. What do you guys think??

Texas should win this game for sure. Houston beat them in their opener and they did not really play well against San Jose State last weekend. It is MOST definitely REDEMPTION TIME. I hate UCLA and still have nightmares about the 66-3 thrashing they put on us '97. Texas WILL NOT LOSE to the California punks this year! HOOK'EM!

I was a Senior at UT when UCLA handed us that beating. I hated John Mackovich too. We need to show them who owns the turf at the Rose Bowl.

Just listened to Mack on the Dan Patrick show... see recap below

Texas’ Mack Brown says he wants Big 12 to stay together; praises QB Gilbert

by DP Show on September 16, 2011 in Dan Patrick Show

Texas coach Mack Brown joined the show to talk about their season, the UCLA contest and the Longhorn Network.

Brown said he really doesn’t know what’s going on with realignment. He said it’s a misconception that coaches are heavily involved with this process. Brown said that his AD and president have worked hard to keep the Big 12 together and he hopes it stays together. Although Brown isn’t sure what the future of the program.

“I’m trying to make sure we beat UCLA,†Brown said. “Other than that, I haven’t got a lot of realignment on my mind.â€

Brown said that he does call quarterback Case McCoy “Colt†and Jaxon Shipley “Jordan.†But Brown said that he saw Major Applewhite do the same thing, so he’s not worried that he’s getting old.

Brown said that quarterback Garrett Gilbert is a great young man and has no problem if he gets benched. He’s all about the team. And Brown pointed out Gilbert knows he’ll probably have to go back out there. “He will not be disruptive on our team,†Brown said.

Interesting to see that Mack still has some faith in GG, but God I hope he doesn't have to put him back in.

I am all about Mack Brown and he is a true diplomat but he has to be thinking GG is awful. Would be nice to see GG go in and do mop up duty when Texas is up by 30 early in the 4th quarter tomorrow. Watch him throw 3 tds with no pix. Mack is reliving the not so far removed glory days of Colt/Jordan. Heck, if he continues to cal them Colt and Jordan maybe they will play like them?

Regarding realignment, Deloss and Powers are involved but you can bet your tail that Mack has input too. Can we go out and KILL UCLA????

I think we can. The defense looked great Saturday. The will make the offense's job alot easier. Hook Em!!

pavendano hit the nail on the head - that defense is lights out, which allows the young guns at qb a little room for error (only a slight bit) tomorrow. I hope they play with the same tenacity they did last week. We keep this up the season might be fairly successful.

Let's hope so. Seems like McCoy really fired up the offense. We need to get some w's under his belt before conference play begins

I hope Texas throws in several of the Harsin trick plays with David Ash. We need to keep 'em guessing all day. Cannot wait for the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2:30 on ABC!!!

Chase McCoy is destined for greatness like his bro:
