Jeff Bridges had to be talked into the role of the Dude. He hesitated because he said he was not funny and had never been in a comedy. Now he says it is his favorite role and the movie still holds up, even today. My favorite part is when they are throwing his friends ashes into the sea but the wind blew them back into his face.
F'ing greatness..and thanks for the kind words Commander..
I think I may just watch the flick tonight after UT/Kansas..Some Jiffy Pop, yep I still love the stuff (bet you didn't know they still make it) and some cold Miller Lite. Now that's what I call a fun evening. Only one prob..my wife doesn't get the humor but very few chicks get the Three Stooges either..Damn good thing opposites attrack, heh?
The Coen Brothers are tight. Good thing Bridges took that role because I couldn't think of anyone else playing it. Good cast too. The Miller Lite sounds like a winner but the Jiffy Pop? HEck no, didn't know they still made the stuff!
Showed my 7 and 9 year old the stooges and they loved it. They don't make it any better than that these days.
