No. 1 Texas plays its first game at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, facing No. 14 Tennessee in the SEC opener for both teams. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT on ABC. Texas is a 4.5-point favorite as of Thursday, though the line could change before game time.

The Longhorns lead the series 2-1, but this rivalry has spent most of its history on paper. All three previous meetings took place in the Cotton Bowl, the last a 36-13 Texas win on Jan. 1, 1969. Saturday’s game will be their first meeting in Knoxville, and their first anywhere in more than 57 years.

Both teams are 3-0. Texas has yet to play on the road this season, and its offense will need a sharper outing than it had against UTSA, particularly with Tennessee defensive coordinator Jim Knowles trying to make Arch Manning work through his progressions. The Longhorns also have to deal with a Volunteers rushing attack averaging nearly 300 yards per game. If Texas can limit the run and avoid costly mistakes in a loud stadium, it will give itself a chance to leave Knoxville with an important conference win.
