The Texas Longhorns have won two straight but had their February 18th game against Oklahoma postponed due to the weather situation in the state.  As they head down the stretch in the regular season, they need wins in the remaining conference games to solidify a favorable spot in the NCAA Tournament seeding.

Saturday's matchup against a ranked West Virginia team at the Erwin Center will provide Shaka Smart with an opportunity to increase his home-record against the Mountaineers to 5-1 with a win.

What:  #12 Texas Longhorns (13-5, 7-4) vs. #13 West Virginia Mountaineers (14-6, 7-4)
When:  Saturday, February 20, 2021
Time:  2:00 PM
Venue:  Frank Erwin Center
Location:  Austin, TX
Television:  ABC

Last meeting between these two teams: Texas defeated West Virginia 72-70 (January 9, 2021 - Morgantown, WV)
All-time series record:  Texas leads West Virginia 13-9

Need a big win here! Barely beat them on the road thanks to an AJ1 3-pointer at the buzzer.

A win puts us back in a great spot for a 3-seed in the NCAA Tourney.

If Texas plays like they did in first half, they can play ( and win) with any one.

However if they get refferees like this will be hard to win close games IMO.

Waiting for four PM to get a DB.

Uh, how do you lose a 19 point lead in the second half of a basketball game? Just ask Shaka, he can show you. Unbelievable.

What a disappointing second half. Dominated for 24 minutes and then a total collapse.

No lead is safe with Shaka’s teams. I really don’t think he knows what he’s doing.

Is his seat getting warm? It should be.

This mid-season collapse has turned into a program signature of ours, spanning multiple coaches.

Shaka’s 7th year (I think) and this is his best Longhorn team.  In my estimation this team is around a legit 15.

Ironically 15ish was about the average for a Rick Barnes team, the guy we canned to get Shaka in here.

Did you notice the FT difference? WVU got 37, hit 26, UT gets a measly 10?? Hit only 4.
Something ain’t right there.

Well, @Bear19 and other BMDs need to get in our AD's ear.
My Longhorn basketball awareness really started with Abe Lemmons.  After Abe:  Bob Wetlick, Tom Penders, Rick Barnes, Shaka Smart.

Barnes is easily the best Texas coach during this time, followed by Penders.  So far Shaka’s performance is Abe-like but Shaka has that dead last finish on his ledger.

Refs. cost Horns a big cause of loss. Tech. foul was a travesty IMO. Unequal callingat other end of court..
