You know context is everything.  What if I had said in Spanglish, "Gee!  maybe if I had una botana, yes, quisas some empanaditas de aperitivo de las judias ...?"  Kinda loses something in translation dudn't it?

My man!  Odoriferous is hard to pronounce in my own head, perhaps odiferious would be better.  Besides, I have a preference for odiferious wet cheese myownself ... just sayin.  And besides, there is something about odoriferous wet cheese that just does not sit well in my brain pan.
