So I'm comint to Austin for the TCU game as part of my honeymoon (yes a brainwashed my fiance). It will be my first time in Austin or the USA.

Looking for recommendations of things to do in Austin and San Antonio

Go to Austin first, and you may not want to go to San Antonio.  How long will you be in the area?

Oasis on Lake Travis for drinks at sunset, food is OK but nothing to brag about. Some of my favorite places to eat in Austin are County Line BBQ on the Lake, Iron Works, Pok-E-Jos, Chuy's, Serrano's, Threadgills and The Tavern (very cold beer!).

In Austin here are some things to do, Climb Mt Bonnell, swim at Barton Springs, visit the Capital, visit Bob Bullock Museum, have a drink at The Driskell, check out the Continental Club, Antones (if it's still open?), take pictures with the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue on Lake Austin and with Willie's statue at ACL.

I don't know much about San Antonio but I do know to there's some very good Mexican food at the oldest family own restaurant at Jacala's at 606 West Ave. Of course visit the Riverwalk and you must stop at Dirty Nelly's and Dick's Last Resort. The Riverwalk has a County Line BBQ but I've always favored the one at The Lake.

Hope all this helps and welcome to Texas amigo!

Always enjoyed Schilos German deli in San Antonio. Has been open for around 80+ years I believe, great German food and breakfast . Closed on Sundays. Street level from Riverwalk, don't remember the cross streets. Good stuff! Large German population in San Antonio in its infancy I realized after researching.

Thanks guys. Super excited to try real texas bbq eaten at plenty of imitation joints here in Australia.

Being an Aussie i love a beer so looking for pubs and music venues. Missus(fiance) is keen on history so wants to see Alamo in SA

Regarding music venues, I haven't been to Antone's in YEARS!  And like tejasrulz says, I don't know if it's still open.  BUT if it is, you must catch a show there!

If you want brewpubs: ABGB, Draught House, Black Star Co-op

If you want a brewery taproom, check the times online for: Austin Beerworks, Adelbert's, Live Oak, 512, Hops & Grain, Zilker, Independence

If you are in Austin on a Wednesday night go to the Cedar Street Court yard and see the Spazmatics.

Oh yeah, there's a brewstillery in San Antonio called Ranger Creek. They brew beer and distill whiskey.

So i arrive tomorrow to watch chucks last game as coach. 10 weeks ago when i planned this trip i was much more excited about the game then i am now.

Is there anything i should do an game day outside of the game. Do UT put on any cool fan stuff

Go here before the game:  http://www.scholzgarten.com/

It will be crowded but it's a must experience for any Texas fan. Just walk up to any tailgate, let them know where you're from and I'm sure a cold beer and some friendly conversation will be extended. Have fun and HOOK'EM!
