Love el mahico and hope he comes on over. He says saban is not happening at all. Interesting since there are those who say he is. I guess different sources with different info but those are pretty opposite. Anyone with real info or is the truth in the middle meaning no one knows? Love this board!!!

ive been on the side that if you want saban you go get patterson...however i cant say its 100% done deal on my side of info...in fact i think all the attention it gets actually hurts us...if you held a gun to my head right now, I just dont see it happening to be honest...

I think he's pretty much correct. Saban's name alone brings in hits and means more advertisement money. Once i take off my burnt orange shades i cant see where the Saban to Austin makes any sense for him. He's got absolutely way to much to leave behind with the amount of talent he has and the fact that his teams will be in the NC picture for years to come there. It will take time to accomplish that here and the guy is 62. If you look at Saban's early tenure in Alabama and how much happier he seems in press conferences and after games now as opposed to earlier it seems like he is truly content there. Im not getting my hopes up for Saban to Austin that way if it comes to fruition it will be a great surprise and great xmas. But common sense comes in and says he stays put. I think Mora will be our next HC. imo

I'm not a believer in Saban to UT, but if he truly is looking forward to a life after coaching and is looking at the business side of things, Nick Saban Ford, Niick Saban's Steakhouse and Nick Saban's Smoked Sausage bring in much more money if they are in the Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Dallas markets than if they are in the Montgomery, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Mobile markets. The money he can make coaching will be greater at Texas, but the money his brand will bring in after coaching is much greater if that brand is in the Texas market and the easiest way to do that is take the risk and come to Austin.

I've often said that if Vince had stayed and won a second MNC at Texas he wouldn't have to ever play a down in the pros to be financially set for life. Shockingly, he never called me for my opinion.

As someone with no inside info in these regards, I agree here. Right now there is still no opening as Texas HC, so the odds are low. Once Mack announces, all bets are off as the Texas checkbook is open for business.

I don't think the Saban's are hurting for money and can retire and spend time with his family as opposed to starting a business. Besides, he would make a ton of money in Alabama/Georgia/Tennessee area and a move to Texas wouldn't be necessary. I think it's a bit based to think Texas would bring anything more than the southeast can

I think it happens. Saban wants to be the best of all time. With 3 NC and 3 different schools, is to big of a opportunity to pass up. Especially for a ego maniac like Saban.

This.

We will all know soon enough. However one day I feel like he may come and the next no way.

Eagle Shale > all the above

I think he can accomplish being the best of all time easier at Alabama considering what he has. Talent out the yingyang. He would be leaving multiple NC's behind if he left Alabama at this point with the uncertainty of accomplishing that here in Austin. He's a smart man and will do the more sure thing. This guy doesnt take risks. He doesnt need to win 3NC's at 3 different schools to be conisdered the best of all time. He's done so in the best conference in the game with the most NFL talent during a time where scholarship limitations make it even more of an accomplishment what he's got at Alabama and what's still there. If you think Saban is an egomaniac then there is NO WAY he would come to UT after stating that his only professional regret is the way he handled the Miami to Alabama situation. Thats hurt his ego so much that he wouldn't be stupid enough to make the same mistake twice. But then again, anything credible info can change that but all we have now are rumors.

I just want to start out by saying I am not an insider with any connections. But, a customer of mine that is a season ticket holder said her friend, who is a realtor in the Austin area said what everyone is saying about NS buying a house there. She also said her friend's son was part of the security detail for Mrs. Saban and her sister in law for a couple of weekends.

I feel the same way at times. I dont think anyone could turn us down but then again I know my opinion might be biased.

Lets hope they didnt use State resources to be security for the wife of a football coach. thats just crazy to think she would need security detail. also, from what ive heard his son lives in Austin.

I think this is the ONLY reason it happens. If it happens at all.

Just one question: Saban has had plenty of opportunity to squelch the Texas talk and is has not come out and said I will not be the next coach at the University Of Texas?

If it goes south, I will be very disappointed because we are so,so close to pulling it off.

Nick Saban on Texas rumors: 'I’m just too damn old to start over somewhere else' | al.com

certainly doesn't sound like a man that is willing to let his ego and his image get tarnished and dragged through the mud again. if it were to any degree of a deal getting reached it would be on every major network. but not one has even brought this up since their game against LSU. again, if you have some credible info please post it. there's not even a job officially open. the rumors that mack has been asked to stepped down are exactly rumors. until that happens there is no deal being reached with Saban or any other potential head coach.

I would debate that the head football coach at Alabama would be a beloved individual in Georgia or Tennessee. Take Atlanta away from Miss, KY, Ala, Ga, Tenn and its a complete economic sewer. Add Atlanta in and its a complete economic sewer with a large city .
