Edinburg HS player charges ref in football game

Football is a game of high emotion but that should never ever be tolerated. That young man’s season is over and I’m sure there will be other repercussions. Hope the official is all right.

Hate seeing that in a sport that I love.

Edinburg decided to pull their team out of the 6A state playoffs. Incident will be investigated further which may result in disciplinary action or coaches and staff. That's too bad.

That sucks for the other kids on that team.  Hate to speculate, but there may be other issues at play here.

To pull the team out of the playoffs is wrong.  Only one kid hit that ref. That kid was arrested and will have to explain himself in court.

I’m pretty sure he has shown signs of uncontrollable rage or violence before. He shouldn’t have been on the team.

If he had to be allowed to be on team, nothing says he must play, or even suit up.

It appears that the UIL was going to not let Edinburg participate in the playoffs anyway from what I've read.

I'm thinking since this happened before with this kid in a different UIL sanctioned sport, the football coach took a big chance by letting him on the team, thus the reason the team is being punished. I have no problem with this.
