Travis Frederick after day one:
"The thing I like about football the most is that you get to do things on the field you can't do off the field. It would be pretty illegal just to beat you up, but on the field I get a chance to do that. I get a chance to legally beat somebody up."
"I take advantage of that when I can."
Editor Note: Holy f##king Shit!
Gavin Escobar note from Todd Archer:
Graceful isn't normally the best description for a football player, but that's what Jerry Jones called Gavin's ability to run routes. He didn't run particularly fast, but he showed the knack of getting open.
New tight ends coach Wes Phillips also mentioned Escobars catch radius as a plus. He made catch after catch on day one.
Others of Note:
RB Kendall Lawrence has a chance to make this team. On day one he ran smooth and hit every hole. That's critical if he is to beat out Tanner or Dunbar for a roster spot.
CB BW Webb did a good job of defending off Escobar on one-on-one drills. Although Gavin did make a nice TD catch on him.
WR Jared Green looked good, but I have to wonder why the Redskins didn't take a chance on him? His father Darrell Green was an HOF player with them.
In case you are wondering?
Bill Callahan was indeed calling plays on day one of the rookie camp.
Let the speculation continue.
Other notes:
Concerns arose with Frederick when he attempted a snap in the Shotgun Formation. The ball just rolled on the ground. Yikes! Maybe he can get some tips from Romo, who is sleeping in Jerry's office with Jason Garrett. Romo is in the top of the bunk beds.
That's All Folks!
