...and upon the other hand..  "texas" is starting to enjoy them!  is it just me, am i really the only one that actually acquires "goosebumps" whenever i view some of those LHN video "practice" excerpts, that we have been entertained with lately?  i just cannot seem to distinguish upon, which aspect that seems to be more endearing, the fact that our players are hereby practicing with a "zest" that we have not witnessed upon, for quite some time...  or the sheer fact that our new coaching regime, seem's to be coaching / teaching them with a high powered "passion" that is clearly and utterly sincere.

oh well, my "goosebumps" have indeed subsided.  upon any day now, i shall be departing afghanistan.  then onward as per dubai, to begin my (18hr) journey home.

i can honestly assure each and everyone of my "hornsports" member mates..  this shall indeed be the best trip home ever!   texas 2014 "spring game" cometh!

First, stay safe and Godspeed on the journey home. Get to Austin this fall to some tailgating if you can. (opps... see you are aiming to make it to the Spring Game!!! Great!!!)
Second, think you are right on the coaching/teaching and passion. All together. I get goosebumps looking ahead to the potential effort on the field that can be achieved with the passionate commitment to practice and teaching that we're seeing. Behind it all is a set of guidelines that is a daily commitment on and off the field. Over time that builds a frame of mind that is both conscious and unconscious. When it's fully and firmly in place, the players can go out and execute at full speed and just 'make plays.'

Big time coaches take 3 years to resurrect a program! It's kinda a rule for them...they know they have that time and they do it on purpose. First thing they do is pick a good kid they can recruit and make him into a hero (it's a smoke and mirrors game). They don't care who it'll hurt...it's just a thing! They'll fire some coaches next because that's what is necessary and you know it... then they'll have a fair team with some of their recruits; If not, they'll blame it on the guys that were there before they came in. Have you ever heard of the three letters an outgoing CEO writes? Look it up!

This is how incoming head coaches get 4/5 years in their new job. It's a guideline! I'm not guessing!
