Cleveland Writer Rips Johnny Football

JFF can't help the aggies sniff a SEC West title, but he'll deliver Cleveland a Super Bowl. #aggielogic

Bingo. The best player in the history of aggydom couldn't even beat a single top 25 team all season long, yet he will suddenly be good enough to deliver a Super Bowl. The Texans would pass on the hometown hero player who delivered a National Title in the greatest performance ever, yet now they would take a QB who couldn't even sniff a division title in his career? So stupid....

I'm not hatin' on J.F.F. I actually like his confidence...but he's letting his ego write checks that his body can't cash, if he thinks he's gonna come into the league and dominate. He'd best be quiet and go where he's drafted if he wants an NFL career that lasts longer than a few months. Reference his time at aggy...he had to be the show if they were gonna win diddly in the SEC. The cult will find that out now that he's gone.

Football is a team game. QB's don't singly "deliver" wins. If it weren't for our D on 4rth and 1, VY wouldn't have had his shot. VY was on a NC team, but what did that mean in the pros? Nada.

JM may be a punk, but he did deliver on the field.

Brett Farve, Peyton Manning, etc. never won a NC or such, but are great QB's. It's a team game, teams win and lose - the draft is about getting individuals. You start with a good QB, and a good pass rush end.

I agree with your comments Tulsahorn. It's a team game. If one would re-watch that game now, one would notice that many of the 2005 Longhorns had a great pro career (excluding, unfortunately Vince). Additionally, I think it would have been better if Manziel did not make that interview; kept quiet and let his work and draft work itself out. Yea, I get that he is trying to separate himself from the "Johnny Football" image but it would have been better if he kept quiet.

I'm not thinking of another future draftee making a 3 page interview (Houston Chronicle). It's too much publicity before being earned. It's better to remain quiet until he accomplishes something that justifies it.

Manziel was a terrific College Quarterback, and he might be a great pro QB as well. Nobody knows. And I obviously agree with you that football is a team game. But a$m had a very average season this year with three first round picks on their roster, not to mention the Heisman trophy winner. My comments are likely more reflective of all the false aggy hype going around today than Johnny's lack of Championships.

Bolded for not so sad truth.

Things will be different in the next league..... a lot faster and mean son-of-guns.

Im still laughing at the mention of Cleveland and Super Bowl in the same sentence.
