The Texas Longhorns (17-7, 11-6) open up Big 12 Conference Tournament Play against the Texas Tech Red Raiders (17-9, 9-8).  The Red Raiders swept the Longhorns during the regular season, including a 68-59 win over Shaka Smart's team two weeks ago in Lubbock.

Texas hasn't advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament since 2014, but they hold a three-game winning streak heading into the matchup against Tech in Kansas City.

Texas Texas Tech lost their last regular season game, against the Baylor Bears, but won three straight prior to that.  Chris Beard's team leads the Big 12 by holding teams to 63.3 points per game.

The winner of tonight's matchup will advance to face the winner of Kansas/Oklahoma at 8:30 PM on Friday.

The Texas one on one offense struggles against well coached, good defensive teams.

This is McClung's worst night in a long time. Yet, they're still ahead.

Keep it close. Own the stretch.

Big win for the Horns!

Texas Tech is a very good team, very well coached, very scrappy. We're fortunate to pull this one out but a great game to cut our teeth on before the dance.

Think Texas is a solid 4 seed right now. Beat Kansas and they may move up to a 3.

Joe Lunardi has Texas as 3 right now. I think worst case scenario Texas is a 4. Beat Kansas and we should solidly be a 3.

Is Brown in the doghouse now?  Any news on what went down there?
