So, I am in the camp that thinks Briles would kill it at Texas (I like NS too, but that is a different discussion).

As we all know, the QB position in football is crucial to the success of a college football team. Art Briles develops QBs, plain and simple. Yes, he lost last night. All coaches lose games. NS lost his last game too. That being said, I believe Texas is a good QB (not necessarily great) away from being a great team with a NC shot, and ultimately that is all you ask for...

A lot of luck goes into winning a NC, whether your team is great or not. See Auburn this year (TBD). See Texas vs USC (4th Down). See Texas vs Alabama (Colt). See Texas vs Nebraska (1 second). See Texas vs Colorado (01). The list goes on & on...

At the end of the day, you want to have a shot. This year, Texas had no prayer against OSU, Baylor or Oregon. No shot. You give Texas a good QB and that all changes.

Texas with Manziel = has a shot

Texas with Mariotta = has a shot

Texas with Petty = has a shot

Texas with Colt = played in a NC

Texas with Vince = played in a NC

Texas with Simms/Major = had a shot

Texas with RG3 = has a shot

Texas with Mykkele = has a shot

Bottom line: Mykkele Thompson to QB and let Art do his magic = profit $$ = Win/win as Heard needs to shirt.

Agree about the need for a good QB, but we've still gotta get better on both the OL and DL. Game is still won in the trenches.

Excuse my language but why the hell would we move Mykelle to QB over Jerrod Heard???

Mykelle will be just as fresh as Heard in that scenario and Heard is the far better option

Mykelle has always been a natural WR. Just another mis-management by Mack - allowing Akina to steal him from the offense.

First Briles has to get his House in order before anything else.

1) most penalize team in the nation.

2) no control of his players

3) How did they get so big and strong so fast.

4) Defense Defense Defense

5) Has to like University of Texas

I don't want to rehash the last 4 years but one thing that has really struck me in while over dosing on football the last week is the absurdity of our apparent misuse of talent. When Ash went down, Jaxson Shipley would have been a better option at QB then Case with Swoopes getting meaningful time and maybe taking the position by seasons end (maybe Alamo Bowl was beginners luck but you could see some potential in his performance). The QB position is just one example.
