Obviously we're over 85 and expected to take 4-6 more commits. Thoughts?

Biggest news is that Burton on 247 apparently knows of a graduate transfer QB that has Texas on the radar. However he can't share with us who it is until an official visit takes place. Whatever that means. Just sharing. Speculation is Brewer from Texas Tech.

Brewer at Tech is a Soph.

Hopefully it's dude from FSU. He's hurt, but I'm thinking would be healthy come Fall. Jared Cook?

Brewer is a RSSo but he is graduating in May. His dad and grandfather are alumni and I think both played ball, at least his dad did.

Looks like another 8-win team
If Ash is truly healthy that certainly helps. RB is still elite, WR is solid. OL should be solid, need Reed to stay on DL and Shiro, Brown to step up. LB should be very good (hopefully with the experience), and DB should be good but not great. Special teams concerns me greatly.

Damn that's some quick schooling. But is he any better than Ash? IMO, no.

Looks like you guys got it covered........I was going to say we need some DB people.

Maybe not but he adds much needed depth. I love Ash and I think he can be a great QB but his injury history is not on his side.

May need to put a ? beside Daje Johnson's name. If he doesn't pull his head outta his ass, he may not be on the team much longer.

We need another qb to go along with Heard whether Ash comes back or not. Brewer would be a very nice pickup. We could use a fast running back too. Daje is not someone we can depend on and Gray probably won't be ready. Need more on the lines too.

Yeah I thought about it. Don't know enough of the situation besides my own speculation so I left it. REALLY need him to stay.

The QB from FSU is Jacob Coker.

QB should be very good if Ash can stay healthy and Swoopes can come in as a change of pace guy. I agree having a another guy so Heard can RS would be nice.

RB will be very good, but Eric over at IT fears Gray will have to RS next season. I have no idea what happens with Daje, but nothing would surprise me.

WR will probably be about the same. Shipley still the steady force over the middle. Improvement from Marcus and Sanders should compensate for Magic. Need one of the true frosh to step up.

TE...nope.

OL will take a step back at the beginning of the year with Hawkins, Hopkins, and Walters all leaving. Upside is huge if new coaching staff can get better play out of Harrison. Perkins should be a stud eventually. Estelle needs to go to class and he'll be an asset. Espinosa looks like a different guy. Hopefully somebody steps up out of Riser/Flowers/James.

DL depends a lot on Ced Reed (and what formation we're playing). He's first team all conference if he comes back. MB2 should be a star. This actually looks A LOT better if we play 3-4. Need Ridgeway to have a big year.

LB has some hope with Edmond's emergence midway through the season. Hicks is 1st team all conference if he could ever stay healthy. Reed and Shiro could both play OLB in a 3-4.

Worried about the secondary. I've always thought Diggs was better suited as a safety. We need to see more Colbert and Scott there next season. Turner played more CB last night and looked okay. Duke and Sheroid should be solid as the two primary CBs. Not sure who plays nickel, but it can't be Diggs. He's too small at the LOS in run support.

Ya but hes not gonna transfer to be a backup

My cheap seats view of the strengths and weaknesses the new coach faces:

RB, WR and DL are to me the big strenths. Loads of young talent at WR

Qb we've beaten that to death but keep in mind the kid at Utah State is both very good and up for transfer to but coming off knee surgery. .without good QB play. . WR strength is quickly neutralized

OL. . .we lose our Top 3 and the backups have been unimpressive to flat out bad so far

LB. . .can Hicks stay healthy? Jenkins turned in another nice bowl performance. ..can he do it over 13-14 games (hey I'm an optimist. . .sue me) otherwise don't know

DB. . face it. . .not the strength we are used to at DBU but doesn't suck either . .above average but NOS

P/K. . .Fera was money this year. ..who's next?
