It's not clear to me what this changes. It indicates the conference would still get do all that it does today. It talks some about some conference wide sponsorships, but that doesn't sound like something that requires outside equity to accomplish. Maybe it's just a way for them to get some...

Yeah like most, I only heard the snippet. The snippet without context is like many viral snippets, misleading.

I like the way Sark addresses athletes that aren't working out way better. I see no benefit to trashing a player, that isn't working out. For example: Steve Sarkisian stated that the departure of wide receiver Johntay Cook from the Texas program was a mutual decision, expressing respect for...

Looks like Billy Napier gonna be bavk on hot seat

A bit early in the season to write the obituary for Gundy or Napier. Obviously a disappointing season for either would be difficult to come back from. Firing Gundy would be a bit like Texas firing Mack Brown. Maybe time for the change, but all of the past success makes it hard.

Looks like they are going to move to a single transfer portal window in January. https://www.on3.com/transfer-portal/news/ncaa-football-oversight-committee-votes-to-support-single-january-transfer-portal-window/

    Sark

Yeah, fire Sark, and Ohio State should fire Day for all those losses to Michigan. We should re hire Herman since he was 1-0 against those coaches. I know you aren't saying that, but it seems silly to imply that Sark can't/won't beat those coaches moving forward.

    Clemson /LSU

That was really odd. First them spotting the ball at the one. Since the replay seemed to clearly show that it was a TD, the announcers and the TV audience were convinced it would be changed to a touchdown. It reminds me bit of Livingstone's touchdown. Maybe, you could convince yourself that it...

The Arch hype train hasn't left the station. Hopefully he can settle down in the second half. The new Texas punter Jack Bouweester has been AWESOME.

    The SEC thread

Between the 9 conference gwmes, the CCG and the expanded playoffs, the schedules going forward are obviously going to more grueling. That definitely has advantages and disadvantages, like it or not that's where we have arrived. As far as Sabin. He definitely tried to optimize everything...

    The SEC thread

According to this article Texas 3 anual rivalry games is as expected ou, aggy and arky. If the 3 Texas anual games are decided, then presumably all of the anual rivalries are decided, but there is no mention of that in the article. In addition the article confirms that the SEC schedule will...

    The SEC thread

If our 3 rivalry games are ou, aggy and arky, then we would presumably have to play one of aggy and arky at home each year. Since both those games are home games in 2025, we would need to play one of those 2 games at home for both 2025 and 2026. After aggy made such a fuss about the first SEC...

    The SEC thread

No matter how many teams you include in the playoffs, the team that misses but has a good argument for inclusion is going to feel cheated. This is probably the #1 reason I like the play in games, you win and your in, lose and you are likely out. I understand your concern about this increasing...

    The SEC thread

IMHO an 8 game conference schedule with 16 teams is a lousy deal, because it doesn't allow enough anual rivalry games and or many teams would rarely play each other. I believe the two barriers to 9 games was about getting ESPN to ante up for the increased value they would be receiving and the...

    The SEC thread

Sounds like the SEC is moving to a 9 game schedule, where each school has 3 fixed rivalry games. It will be interesting to see how they schedule the other 6 non rivalry games. Lots of options and opinions on what it should look like...

NCAA ruling on Michigan. Seems like a bit more then a slap on the wrist, but nothing substantial enough to cause their program any substantial problems. I like the show cause on Harbaugh and Strohs, assuming it implies they can't coach in college football for that duration, although who knows...
