It's not about being smart...the NCAA enforcement staff has been gutted. What does that tell you about how serious university presidents are about enforcing the rules?
There is no way Texas is going to bring Briles in to turn Texas into a Mountain West Conference team. I just don't believe it. Look at the others...Saban, Harbaugh, Jimbo, Strong...these are big boy football coaches. Briles simpy doesn't fit.
It's baffling to me that anyone would think that the people at Texas would want Briles as their front man. Great football coach, but don't see how he passes muster in other aspects of the job.

The committee doesn't have anything to do with it. By this time, Patterson should have a pretty good idea who the candidates are and have begun general discussions with agents on what is going to be required for each candidate...IMHO.
I know that some want to think that their team is the best team and so end up personalizing things. But the thing that I am LEAST interested in is the competition between sites. Everyone should take Mcphauls post to heart.

To be fair, Chip isn't "claiming" anything. He is reporting what he is being told. He didn't say zero, he said "almost at zero." Fair enough if you want to question his sources, but wouldn't you have to know who they are in order to question them? Like it says on that big building on the UT...
