i sure don't know all the details but it would be nice to know the facts.  was the right person fired?

Terrible job of context from the Statesman. Davis had an abysmal record over his 15 yrs. Embarrassing for the University. The feud and Ryan's investigation had nothing to do with this.

The credit for the 1.000 score for this school year should go mostly to Coach Strong. Before he got here, there were several guys on the verge of probation or worse. Three had to miss the bowl game for grades.

Ryan, on the other hand has been exceptional in her job. Even if the investigation turns up wrong doing, it's minor and probably just a reprimand and/or salary freeze. The purchases were made over 5-6 years to the tune of $4-5,000 per year. Her profit margin is maybe 10%, so she conceivably "scammed" the University out of $2K over 5 yrs. I've heard she has an email from a superior granting permission for the purchases.

I've heard the article badly misrepresents Ryan's effectiveness and far superior performance vs Davis.  Apparently each sport that has moved away from Davis and had Ryan take over academic oversight has performed significantly better academically and it's not even close.

if that's the case, i agree.  terrible job by AAS on context.  pitiful, actually.  thanks for filling in the holes, eric.  there were a lot of them.
