I am really curious to see how we play vs UCLA and how that impacts the rest of the year. . .. 

I am also very curious which QB emeges this summer as it appears to be a 2 man show (Heard and Swoopes) with young Mr Holtz getting a few snaps. . .

i tend to agree.

i'm not as bullish on our overall talent level as some are, but i do think a lot of football success is tied into emotion and attitude and it appears CS is pushing the right buttons on that front. So mabe that will offset whatever limitations we have.

in summation, virtually no result would surprise me this year.

I honestly think anything less than 8 wins is a complete failure. We should win at least 9 and if the perfect storm hits... who knows.

We beat them with Case last year. . .not sure we are falling off much (I see us about as good this year as last unless ash goes 12)

doesn't mean squat, but i saw the sporting news preseason rag on the shelf the other day and they have ou as their preseason #1. bu was also in the top-10. we were 20-something.

i suspect like manziel, ou is benefitting from the bama-effect. like 'if you beat bama, you MUST be special'

doc longhorn, you know that i am always voicing my love for you guys.  well, now i have to disagree with you!  i for one, am not sold upon the aura that is suddenly ucla.  this particular gridiron matchup, shall indeed become epic.  coach mora, is already quietly, and yet enthusiastically preparing his players mindsets as per their trip to texas.  coach strong, is indeed already aware of this, for he seems to crave monumental matchups such as these.  charlie strong, is not going to allow for mora to just waltz into texas.. and beat his longhorns.  (that was mack's game)  charlie strong, is not at all geared to endure mack's game..  no way!  no how!  not happening!

Tough schedule and little/no experienced QB depth. 

It'll take Strong 2-3 years to turn this thing around.

Texas is going to pull a Auburn (as in last year) on College football for 2014.......I just have the feel in my bones for the good feel Burnt Orange.

With Charlie Strong, I expect a TOUGH DEFENSE. With the uncertainty at QB and RB, I can't predict how the offense will do.  But I will be disappointed if our defense isn't double tough, regardless of personnel.  CS has a reputation of having tough defenses and I expect him to continue that at UT.  I expect Jeff Leiding, Mossy Cade quality defense with offensive opponents being hit under the chin, lifted up and driven into the turf. Drive them through the sidelines, up into the 15th row, spitting blood!  Give me some badass defense, that's what I expect and want!  Always have a chance to win with a great defense, that's where it's at.
