Rewatching the game confirmed that Arch had his outlet wide open on both of the plays he took the penalty for an illegal forward pass. It seems sometimes that he is bent on forcing the big play. It goes to something Herbie said during the game: Arch seems to get paralyzed by indecision. Also adds to the idea that a quick-tempo, timing system might fit his skills best.

If we’re doing anything this year… it’s Fred Akers style. Defense - and don’t make catastrophic mistakes on offense. Well, Fred Akers minus the exceptional special teams. Our offense is what it is at this point… and that’s not very good.

Here’s my non-insider view of things from the cheap-seats:

Sark is a great head coach and he could be elite… if he would just be a head coach, and let go of the OC / QB developer role.

His offense is too complicated for a college QB to completely grasp… and certainly too complex for a reshuffled team to master in this NIL era.

We are good enough to win every game on our schedule… Thank goodness Georgia isn’t on our schedule. I wouldn’t bet the house… or a lunch against them. We’re good / ranked numero uno because we have an elite defense this year…

I 100% agree with this. Arch gets in a good rhythm hitting swings and underneath routes. Sure, take a shot every now and then, but simplify his brain a little. Also, sprinkle in a little zone read keeper for him.

I can't remember seeing a player convulse like that before on the field. That was bad and could have significant impacts for a while. Moore might be done for the year. Similar to David Ash hanging it up.

When their arms go stiff like that you know its bad.

I totally agree with you there. Let me also add that Lance Jackson played well as well.. despite a couple of the penalties that shouldn't have happened, otherwise he played pretty good. Offensive line really need to step it up..

I actually looked up Lance Jackson during the game due to his play, was glad to see he's only a sophomore. Sark mentioned in his presser today that he had his best game as a Longhorn.

I know a lot of yall demand perfection (queue up Denzel Washington in Remember the Titans) however just know that the $ec home teams were 7-1 this past Saturday. The only loss was Tennessee to Texas.
