That is probably the one and only scenario where a call could be corrected and the outcome changed. The game was over. It looked as if the clock hit 0:00 before the defender touched the ball.

This reminds me of when Texas played Nebraska in the BIG12 championship game, where Colt threw the ball out of bounds as the clock was running out. Replay clearly showed the ball hitting a railing with 1 second remaining. I was actually at that game, and it was very confusing from the stands. Pellini went ballistic, and always insisted that Nebraska was robbed, even though the video evidence was crystal clear.

I haven't been able to see the replay on a big screen, but what the refs are saying is that the ball touched a Western Michigan player out of bounds with 1 second left, and by rule that stops the clock. Assuming that's the rule, and the replay really shows that, then the refs got it correct. If that's wrong, then it will be interesting to see what happens, if anything.

ESPN is saying that what fans see is different than what the replay booth sees. Fans get two different feeds which go out the tv truck and then get synchronized. The replay booth get a straight and unadulterated feed.
Right or wrong it's got to be tough on W. Mich.
