Gainesville head football coach Neil Searcy was suspended for the entire 2026 football season for knowingly violating University Interscholastic League rules, the UIL State Executive Committee ruled Thursday. Gainesville, a Class 4A school, practiced six days for six total hours in May with equipment such as pads and helmets before school under the direction of Searcy, who also led tackling drills. He said it was a voluntary practice.

"It is with profound sadness that we share that Lake Travis High School senior Odin Hensley has passed away as a result of complications from a medical emergency he experienced during football practice earlier this week," Null shared in the letter. "His teachers and coaches remember Odin as a kind, determined young man who was a valued teammate, classmate, and friend. His presence touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed,"

OTF's Jordan Scruggs was at the Duncanville-Cedar Hill scrimmage tonight. It didn't last too long. lol

"They just canceled the rest of the scrimmage. Fights were breaking out every other play on the field. There were fights in the stands and they evacuated the bleachers "

Our (Dripping Springs) first game was supposed to be against Lake Travis. The game was canceled a few days ago (understandably) so they could deal with the tragedy.
