2027 Recruiting Thread

Several days ago, I posted that we had an official visit from a recruit who had committed to every school he had visited. Hamilton had not revealed a name when he said that.

Today, he revealed that the player in question was McGee, who just committed to Penn State. So who knows if that saga is over.

Things are looking good for Jackson. Today, we get to add a top safety to the class.
Jackson is announced Saturday

24/7 recruiting rankings right now.

1. aggy (23 commits)

2. Notre Dame (21 commits)

3. Miami (19 commits)

4. OU (26 commits)

5. Texas (19 commits)

6. Oregon (20 commits)

7. Texas Tech (19 commits)

8. Ohio State (16 commits)

9. Auburn (24 commits)

10 Florida (24 commits)

Others in SEC

15. Georgia (17)
17. LSU (14)
20. Ole Miss (18)
21. Kentucky (25)
27. MIssouri (18)
29. Vanderbilt (16)
30. Arkansas (23)
46. Tennessee (16)
52. Miss State (15)
58. South Carolina (12)
60. Alabama (12)

My thoughts, OU's lead over Texas will end soon. They have 7 more in their class than we do. I believe we have a good shot at moving ahead of aggy.

Georgia at 15 is surprising. They are almost always in the top 3 or top 5. As good as LSU is said to have been doing this year, they're still at 10th 7. Bama at the bottom of the heap is shocking, frankly. Tennessee not having a great year so far either.

Pulse Check: The latest trends in LSU’s flip pursuit of 5-star Texas commit Easton Royal

  • New Orleans (La.) Brother Martin five-star wide receiver Easton Royal has become the hottest topic on the recruiting trail this offseason as he continues evaluating top contenders in his process.

Royal checks in as the No. 2 rated wideout in America with the LSU Tigers and Florida Gatorsemerging as the biggest threats to move him off of his verbal commitment to the Texas Longhorns - but it remains a battle this summer.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder out of The Boot has remained loyal to his current pledge, but it hasn't stopped LSU and Florida from intensifying their pursuits after hosting Royal on official visits in June.

As the top-ranked prospect in Louisiananavigates the final steps in his recruitment, it's become a tight race with sources believing this one is quickly emerging as an LSU versus Texas battle in crunch time.

Now, with the NCAA Dead Period arriving, Royal will take the time to mull over his options after taking a trio of official visits to LSU, Florida and Texas to round out the month.

The elite pass-catcher caught up with Swamp247 to breakdown where his recruitment currently stands - and his thoughts on the LSU Tigers after a significant month of the staff ramping up its pursuit.

    Pulse Check: Easton Royal Edition

    LSU…
"I'm still talking to those coaches," Royal said. "They're trying to flip me and convince me that everything I need right here is at home as well, stressing that development and the power of LSU when it comes to producing receivers."

Florida… "Florida, they still stand strong in my recruitment and I'm still continuing to look into them as well because I really like their staff and development as well," Royal said.

"Florida's probably the only school that I know with five receiver coaches, and some people may think that's a bad thing, but I think that's a really good thing," Royal said. "The best thing about it, there's no egos. So everybody just genuinely wants to see everybody be the best they can be."

Texas… "It's always good to be back to the school that you're committed to, just seeing how they're able to continue to set themselves apart to solidify the commitment," Royal told Swamp247.

"I was really satisfied and surprised at all of the connections that the University of Texas actually has and the power of the logo."

Decision Timeline: No Rush for Royal

"We're just taking in the process," Royal said. "I am definitely open to going into the season."

"I'm really going to take advantage of the dead period."

Now, as the clock continues ticking, all eyes are on the LSU Tigers as the program to watch as the aggressive pursuit to flip him away from Texas continues this offseason.
