Without a shutdown closer like Volantis, it feels like we better have at least a 6-run lead going into the 9th... We've blown 2 Fridays where we established solid leads and absolutely wasted them both times.

Tough break for Robbins on the play that allowed Auburn to win the game because without him, we wouldn't have been in it.

We started 16-0 and have lost 3 of 5 since.

Now, Coach Schloss has stated multiple times on the pregame talk with Craig and Keith or Keith and Roger that if we have issues closing games that he could/would put Volantis back at closer and figure out the Sunday starter.

Well, if you're not going to put Burns out there to close and trust Higgins and Leffew to also help close. Then put Cozart at the Sunday starter and Volantis as closer.

This team is in a weird funk right now. Not the best time to be in a funk. Not getting the hits we got earlier in the season, but a lot of that is the SEC pitching is really good.

Now if we replayed last night game 9 more times we win 7/8 of those games. They got a bloop double in the 1st. A bunt single. A infield single that A Rod couldn't get the ball in his hand to throw. Robbins missed played the base hit in the bottom of the 9th.

I usually agree with most of Schloss' moves, but I would rather bring Duplantier in as a pitch runner/defensive replacement in the 8th inning. He doesn't do enough at the plate to get many at bats as he has.

Another issue is the use of Ethan Walker, he should be used to see if he can get out of a jam in the 4th, 5th, and 6th inning not the 8th or 9th inning.
