The Texas softball team opens the year by beating #9 Nebraska 15-10 in a pitcher's duel.

I like beating the corn in any sport. Talk about a fan base that hates us, they're aggy & sooner like with it!

The softball team split a double header yesterday beating Washington 11-6 and losing to the corn 8-5. I noticed that Coach White used younger pitchers for both so I'm assuming he wanted to see what they could do. I also noticed one of them was the transfer from Tech.

They play another double header today against Washington and UTSA.

He was my childhood hero. From Little League football, baseball through sophomore year in high school to state softball championships I wore his number - 25.

May Chris Gilbert rest in peace.

Texas cancels home and home football games against Arizona State.

I will be surprised if the Notre Dame home and home happens.

Unless something changes fairly soon, I'm guessing most if not all Power 4 teams will only play easy out of conference games, and
that this will create problems for Notre Dame, unless they join a conference.

Did Curt Flood deserve raise & extension with OL in 2025 & his non stellar recruiting?

Herman left a mess on the OL. While Coach Flood had a very poor offseason (evaluations) and season, I'd say he's done an overall solid job. He's one of the best OL coaches Texas has had in my time following the team... granted we've had our issues there. I guess my short answer is no... but I'm not ready to run him out of town.

I will also say this... the game / OL position has evolved past exclusively recruiting a bunch of mammoth "large humans" to lean on the opposition. I believe the position requires a more athletic player. Large humans who also played basketball in HS if you will (see Goosby). Our recruiting indicates that Kyle Flood is adapting.... or at least trying to. The recent OL we are pursuing seem to be a bit less in the "Large" category and greater in the "athletic" category.
