PK OUT, MUSCHAMP IS BACK

I am like a late payment. I'm so behind.I had no clue Akina was back on the coaching staff and I was just getting off work and heard about PK. I'm like.. I've must have been asleep somewhere under a rock..Whew Lawd have mercy
According to CJ Vogel and OTF,

Steve Sarkisian has made a change at defensive coordinator.

Former Longhorn DC Will Muschamp has been hired as the Texas defensive coordinator Thursday afternoon.

Pete Kwiatkowski and secondary coach Duane Akina were not retained by the Texas head coac

I've got to say this is stunning to me! If a coordinator needs to be fired - it's the offensive coordinator. Our defense have been better than our offense upon Sark's arrival and it hasn't even been close. I have to think that maybe they weren't getting along?

What I'm about to say will get pushback I'm sure. Muschamp had two years here before, and one of them was horrible. We fell in love with his caged tiger act on the sideline more than anything. In my fan experience at Texas, I'd take: Robinson, McWilliams, Chizik, Ash and Fuller over Muschamp. Just my opinion...

I view this as highly questionable. But he's the coach and he's probably better at it than me. There must be more to this than performance.... there has to be; right?
Let's not forget about his success at LSU and Auburn.
I wonder if his hiring changes the Liona Lefau situation. Muschamp loves in the box LB's.

More immediate questions for me are who coaches th defense in the bowl game since there isn’t time for Boom to get up to speed and what does this mean for the rest of the defensive coaching staff? Specifically Nannson?

Nansen probably is safe. It is up to Muschamp though.

Anxious to see who takes over the secondary.

Muschamp probably coaches the bowl game, I would think.

Like somebody posted on the OTF video. Hopefully now we stop seeing Collins drop into coverage.

Interesting development today. I heard/read to not be surprised to see Travaris Robinson leave UGA and go with Champ. Not a given, but those two go together. Robinson is a hell of a recruiter. Also hearing Derek Williams might be re-thinking entering the portal now.
I'm hearing that too.

Would like Robinson or Gideon back on the staff. Both are good with me! Would be more surprised to see Robinson leave I think.

IMO, either would be good.

Just going off of second/third hand info (rumors?), Gideon would be too expensive. Gideon is making over $1mil right now where he is at. Therefore, it seems that Robinson is the the favorite right now and that's not a bad thing.

Muschamp will have more control over the whole secondary and Robinson will push whatever he wants. But to add to that, Robinson is an EXCELLENT recruiter.

Gideon is making $1 million. Robinson is making $1.5 million. Gideon would be coming home and more likely to take a hometown discount.
