I don't think we see Hill at all this year. January had a good spring and apparently looks good overall, he may get snaps in 4 games this season but I agree, a RS makes sense.

Bryant and Bledsoe have a chance to prove themselves this fall and will have all the transfers and Broughton/Collins move on after this year. If they aren't at the top of the depth chart next year, it's on them. I'm hoping they are two guys we can depend on in 2025, the young guys develop in to solid back ups and we still likely look to the portal for a DT or two.
Bryant, Bledsoe, Mitchell, January and Hills will be the remaining guys after next year. It would be nice if they could bring in that developmental portal DT Bowens as well. I hope at least Bryant, Bledsoe and Mitchell get enough snaps to gain some real game experience, because like has been pointed out, the 5 experienced DT's will all be gone after next year.

How many extra snaps are there after you have a six man rotation? That is my biggest concern. Texas is short cycling some positions. DT and WR being prime examples.

I think that is the old way of thinking. With the Portal nowadays, can you really keep 4/5*s from Freshman to Senior/NFL draft? For D/OLine we are talking big, strong men who really need experience to be effective. I think it will be rare to see a freshman start on the D/Oline. It'll be interesting to watch in the upcoming years.

I think there may be positions easier to break into the starting lineup as a Freshman but it would be because of speed or quickness--WR or RB. Still, if we are at the championship level, I really don't see it happening but once every couple of years.

I'm not worried about freshmen being redshirted. Its the 2nd or 3rd year players that I'm worried about. Portal guys in ahead of them and they will bolt.
Speaking of the portal, I heard on OTF that Ohio State was contacting Arch trying to entice him into the portal. Tampering needs to be addressed.

That’s crazy bc Ohio State has the second best quarterback room in the NCAA after Texas. But it is Arch.

Ohio State should be careful poking the bear. We CAN play that same game better than they can.

No portal window available for our 2nd/3rd yr guys, Aaron Bryant and Jaray Bledsoe to portal out until after this season (if they want to be eligible this fall). All the portal takes will be gone after the fall. In this instance, I don't think it is a concern.

I was looking forward. The window after portals in.

Did anyone else notice that Texas also has the third Umeozulu (Ziky) brother on the roster? He is listed as a Fr DB and I guess he is a walk on, right?

He is 6'3" 200lbs. Just thought it was interesting and under the radar for me at least.

Yeah, he played some snaps during the spring game.
