Money was unlikely to be the determining factor. It really comes down to what Sark wants, so if his heart was in Tuscaloosa then there wasn't anything CDC could have done to keep him.

Randall Joyner or Freddie Roach would be great hires. Don't forget about Oscar Giles. He has developed several D-linemen. Don't know about his recruiting acumen.

I don't have the expertise to know if Joyner would be best, but on the surface, I am more impressed by Mike Elston than Roach. He wasn't getting 5 stars and turned Michigan into a dominant line this year.

Yeah that’s true but Texas is a better job. Probably the best job in the country. I know Bama is a good job but what can a coach really do there? Nobody is going to do better and most likely not even the same as Saban so it’s only down. Glad Sark is staying. We aren’t “back” yet but we are sure headed in that direction.

IT reporting this morning that the contract is done, but needs to be signed.

It won't become official until that happens and the Regents vote on it, but it's a formality at this point.

They expect an official announcement today.
