**Running College Football Updates Thread**

after thinking about it for a few hours I think it worked the way the committee figured after their sweetheart Oregon got beat Friday night, they knew Texas would take care of business and figured Georgia domination had to come to and end statistically, the fly in the ointment became FSU, had Louisville handled FSU everyone would have been happy
LV's offense was awful.

No Texas should be in at #4 FSU at #3
Ala.should not have made it.

Are you saying lose a QB then penalize the other 10 . Maybe if One of the 4 teams gets a QB hurt in practice take them out get another team. Bad precedent in my opinion.
Yes that is exactly what I am saying. Its the 4 best teams as of right now.

SMU would probably beat them. Injuries happen but explain to me why you think putting in a team that only managed as many yards their entire game as Quinn had the first 2 drives makes any sense in the playoffs. It doesnt they would get spanked and everyone knows it. Even with their 2nd string QB they barely won against Florida who isnt even bowl eligible.

They need more depth then because Travis is the reason they were so good. Now not so much.

Its pretty obvious my opinion of FSU is pretty low. I was pretty sure we were going to make it. I wanted Bama or Georgia in because I think they were better. FSU put me to sleep. I think that entire conference is overrated. Who did FSU beat that makes you believe they are top 4? Clemson sucks, LSU isnt great, and dont evne get me started on Lousiville. That team has no business being in the top 25 after that shitshow. I am not even sure I call that football what I saw last night. I was praying for first downs more than anything. It was awful. Thats what 55th rank in sos gets you.

I won't say much more about it after this, but...

Corrigan, responding to Norvell's comments:
"it's a unique year. Someone was going to be disappointed."

Personally, I think the committee had a get-out-of-jail free card to not piss off the most number of people. Throughout the last 3-4 weeks of rankings, the committee stayed consistent by keeping it FSU > Texas > Bama (among the 3 teams in the debate), even with the injury to Travis being a known factor.... until today. The decision was setup for them on a platter to show some integrity, and some damn consistency.

I'm a "who deserves it" guy...and I say, the team that should've been disappointed today was the one with an (H2H) L on their record instead of the undefeated one.

The committee didn't have the balls to do it, though. Sucks for FSU.

I get what you are saying and I think FSU would have had their clock cleaned by Michigan. But I think you have to give them a chance until they lose a game. They are an undefeated Power-5 conference champion. Texas Western's basketball team (1966?) was undefeated and got a chance against Adolph Rupp and Kentucky and won the championship. Who would have believed it until they had a chance to prove it. FSU is undefeated and just might be the best team in college football but we'll never know.

We will just have to agree to disagree on this guys. FSU sucks right now. Their last 2 games without Travis shows it. I think the reason they dropped today so far is the entire committee actually watched that game last night. Its was horrible. Everyone knew it was going to happen. If anyone got screwed it was Georgia. You guys are making a case for who deserves it more based on the entire season. I understand that but to me its the 4 best teams right now. FSU isnt even top 10 to me.

Im telling you I wasnt worried I knew were going to make it after the last 2 games. I said it earlier this week if Georgia loses we make it in. A lot of you said no way we make it in over the 2 time defending champs. I ended being right on the head to head with Bama and with being in over Georgia. I knew after watching FSU they were toast and so did most of the media. Everyone watched just horrible both of those teams were.

Call me heartless because idgaf. Its where the chips fell for FSU. No one is entitled to a playoff spot because they went undefeated in a weak ass conference with a shitty strength of schedule. Might as well give it Liberty then. The ACC is highly overrated. Louisville is terrible and FSU is not good. Right now based on who they beat you cant even say they are great with Travis. Who did they beat that was really good? Clemson sucks, LSU is average to decent, Louisville flat out sucks

If Bama was to play FSU I would put 50k on Bama without blinking an eye

All good. I will disagree completely to your point in saying "You guys are making a case for who deserves it more based on the entire season."

Yeah, I mean, what the hell else should it be then?

Instead, maybe we all just agree that it was a failure on the part of the people running college football in jumping from the BCS (2 teams) to the CFP (4 team model) when there are more power conferences than available playoff spots? (Instead of going to 8 or 12 like they should have in the first place).

Yeah, I think I'll go with that. Because that's just effing stupid.

Again, sucks for the kids at FSU.

Haha, yea I think your point is effing stupid. So if FSU made it in before us would you feel bad for us? Do you honestly think they are better than Texas is right now? How about Alabama? Talk about entitlement! We beat a bunch of mediocre teams and we deserve the right to be in the playoffs!!!!! I mean hell a sos of 55 is amazing. But yea I get your point my point if effing stupid LOL. Your heart bleeds so much for FSU that you would rather waste a spot in playoffs to a team that will get shit on because why? You feel sorry for them. That's effing stupid. Spare me the bleeding heart routine. They havent beaten anyone noteworthy the entire season. They are even worse now but they are entitled right? So its the whole season vs right now. Right now they are not good and personally I dont think they were ever really that good.

Did Bama cry a river for us when Colt got hurt in the BCS game? Nope. We would have won that game with Colt but it is what it is. I find it absolutely laughable you guys want FSU in the playoff when you all know they are not good right now because you guys are having some type of condescending heartbreak session for them. They wouldnt give a shit if we were left out and they got in.

Texas got shafted in 2008, we beat OU 45~35 and lost to a very good tceh team on a last second pass to Crabtree. They kept us out of big 12 championship game, and denied Texas a chance to win a title. We had to deal with it, and it sucked.

Forgive my lack of clarity. My "this is effing stupid" point was about CFB going from 2 teams to 4 teams and using a structure of having more power conferences than available playoff spots.

As for the remainder, like you said, we'll agree to disagree. Some people are "best teams should make it" people (more subjective than objective, IMO), others are "more deserving should make it" people (this is where I am).

My problem is with the lack of integrity of the system/committee. And yep, I think it's a travesty that FSU got left out in favor of Bama. Go back to my original post.

Funny enough, during the 4-team CFP stretch, things always seemed to work themselves out by the end of CCG weekend, until this year. Now, it's a moot point moving forward and we're all getting what we should've gotten in the first place.

Ill end it there. Hook'em, sir.

I may not remember quite accurately but weren't the ACC and Pac-12 the main ones against shifting to the expanded format a few years ago? Again, the rumor was that they were afraid the SEC and Big10 would get the majority of spots. Now, the ACC is spurned and the Pac is defunct. Maybe the ACC commish should apologize to FSU for keeping it at 4 given how poorly their conference is viewed outside of Clemson and ND over the last decade.

Fair enough I misunderstood that comment.
