Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

A bit of a random question, but was hoping someone could point me in the right direction since I've been having trouble locating.

I'm looking to add some more Texas signage to the wall in my office, and want to get a wall sign of the Longhorn battle cry: "The Pride And Winning Tradition Of The University Of Texas Will Not Be Entrusted To The Weak Or The Timid."

Anyone know where I might be able to find some for sale to add to my collection?
Why not have it made? You can get just want you want that way and the cost would likely be rather cheap.

I did it with "Come and Take It" which is on a flag, but I put into wood and it now hangs on my back patio wall.

Here's the complete 2023 Texas Hall of Honors Class including some no-name golfer 🙂

I wonder how many know about James H. Means, JR? I sure did't.

Means competed on the 63-64 Texas track and field squad as a walk-on becoming the first African-American student-athlete to participate in athletics at the University of Texas. Means took the 1965 season off before returning as UT's first African American student-athlete to earn a scholarship in the 1965-66 academic year. He would go on to earn a varsity letter in the spring of 1966, becoming Texas' first African American letterwinner.

His bio is a very interesting read as it also delves quite a bit into a lot of his family's accomplishments over the years. Well worth the read.
Here is a story I was told about Mr Means and Tommy Nobis....Nobis was raised on the East side of San Antonio and the only playmates he had there were black kids...time goes by and Nobis is at Texas walking in the jocks dorm when he rounds a corner and there is Diron Talbert screaming at Mr Means ( the only black on scholorship at Texas at the time) telling him he had to bow down every time Talbert walked by.... The word is that Nobis grabbed talbert and threw him up on the wall and held him high with his thumbs digging into Talberts arm pits....Nobis tells Talbert if he ever sees Mr Means ans Talbert together again, Talbert better be  saying..."good to see you Mr Means"..

I dont know if this is true but I heard it  43 years ago from a man that never lied to me...

A few years ago, before the game against tcu in Ft Worth, we saw Bill Little and Craig Way at the Ol' Pancake House having breakfast. I said what the heck and decided to pick up heir tab. As they were leaving, Mr Little came to our table and thanked me. He could not have been more gracious. He talked to us for a good 5-10 minutes, but I could have listened to him all day. Pure class. Wonderful representative of the University and just a good, solid human being. RIP Mr Little.

Bill Little is such a legend. The story telling of Texas athletics would be nothing without him. Bianco does an amazing job after him but there is only one Bill Little.

Back in the day when I was in the media, Little was who I had to go through to get press credentials. He was always very nice to me.

From today's TFB practice report. I was pleasantly surprised to see this. Been hearing his name a lot in the past several days.

"*** The first name that was mentioned to me about having a good day was DL Jaray Bledsoe. Surprising to me.

Bledsoe rotated in with the first unit, though spent most of his time with the 2’s and 3’s. Source told me Bledsoe couldn’t be blocked this afternoon and seemingly each time they looked up, Bledsoe was making a play in the backfield."

I got to meet Mr Little when I was still a pre teen, my family friend Cactus Pryor, whose brother Paul was the stadium announcer introduced me...One of my hobbies as a kid was to know where each Longhorn player came from and even to this day every time I go through some of the small TX towns I think of which football legend came from that town. Mr Little put me to the test and took out the press guide to see how many players I knew and their numbers...he was a very very nice man
