2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

Something they have not done much of in several years. Another sign of the ability of this staff to identify the kids they want and develop them.

People bring up the NIL's impact on recruiting when talking about Sark's first two classes as if the other schools weren't' doing the same thing. The kids still have to be sold on the program and staff. IF things don't improve from hear, the sales pitch will stop working but a lot of people on the outside looking in seem to think this team is different. I don't see them everyday but I do see a lot in Sark that I like better than the previous two staffs. Then again, I just had my Koolade IV installed so there is that.?
You don’t see that often

It is just plain stupid for posters on this board to trash talk Sark.
He has coached 2 years.
What do you guys want ? You want him to lose, so you can say I told you so ?

What kind of fan does that ?

Freakin 2 years ! And you want to talk a bunch of nonsense.

I’ll bet a month of non posting with any of you he will have as good a season as Herman ever had

You might be right.Present team has had injuries not as many. If Tom wouldhad nil he might have done better in OL recruiting . Extra 50 K helps.

No conference titles been a eon or so since Texas won a con. title.

1-3 vs ou recent coaches have had trouble beating ou

old ugly is better than old nothing or abowl loss.

Beating poor ole Rice is getting nearer.

I take no joy in beating a team with no QB. Texas had better talent in walkons.
Wow, just wow!  Tom is this you?

You're giving Tom credit for everything and Sark can't even get an atta boy for 49-0?

Tom compared to Charlie did a great job, but with all the achievements that you've posted, what did he get? An sec HC job? Nope

Wait, let me guess..  An HC job at another top 10 powerhouse? Nope

Tom went to coaching purgatory to eat a little humble pie. Now he's at Florida Atlantic. ?? How can such an amazing coach end up there?

Everyone who knows better realized his smoke and mirror gimmicks were played out., he was a jackass at times and needed a reality check. I wish Tom well, but he did a much worse job than his record and bowl trophies will tell you.

dGo read NTG post he says it much better than me.

Will agree on Tom as A person. Every one can not be a poliction.

Do you belive ou had a chance was bear before K O. I hate the cheaters but will give the devil his due. Some times I wish I lived in a different world but the 30's and 40's made me live in a realistic world. Hookum

I would give you a better response, but I'm really struggling to find your actual point.

There is no disputing that Tom had a better record than Sark after two years. Primarily bc of year 1 (Charlie’s team). Tom also rode the back of the best overall QB that Texas has had since Mr. McCoy. At least until the current crop. I’m not a fortune teller but do predict Sark will have a better record after the same length of time. Even in a much tougher conference.  Then again, that could be bc I’m a homer and had burnt orange contact’s permanently installed.?

Another thing about consistently dissing Sark with snarky comments, that was Del Contes choice.

And he knows how to build a program.

"I’m not a fortune teller but do predict Sark will have a better record after the same length of time."

Sark will have to go 19-6 the next two years to equal Tom's record of 32-18 after 4 years and 20-5 to better it. And don't take that in any way as a statement of praise or criticism of either coach. I'm just pointing what has to happen.

That’s ok.  Get us a big 12 title on the way out and to the playoffs.  The records won’t matter.

2024 is going to be difficult with a new QB starting (most likely).

I almost posted the same thing. It will take back to back seasons that Texas has not seen in years. I just happen to believe we are better suited to do it with the team Sark and Co. have assembled and under his leadership than we have been in the last 15 years. Some Horns fans may not believe but many others do including many sooner fans where I live who are concerned that Texas is on a similar path to dominance as they were under Bobby.

Some times Ihave trouble too. This all started when I posted that this class of Texas recruits was not rated as past years.

Some times in talkingabout apples and oranges some start talking about grapefruit.

Texas grapefruit are awesome. Used to get care packages from my grandparents who lives in the valley when I was kid and they always sent grapefruits.

Tom Herman inherited a program that had gone 16-21 in the previous 3 seasons and they went 32-18 under Tom in 4 seasons.

Steve Sarkisian inherited a program that had gone 32-18 over the previous 4 seasons and has gone 13-12 in 2 seasons.

Sonny Dykes inherited a program that had gone 23-24 over the previous 4 seasons and took them to the national championship game in his first year.

Dems the facts. Feel free to draw your own conclusions.
The main reason Herman got fired was his stupid antics. Mocking an opposing QB and the double bird on LHN on NSD. And the piece de resistance was the "Eyes Of Texas" bullshit.

TCU is one team I'm anxious to watch this year.

I'm pretty sure (can't find data at the moment) Dykes inherited one of the most experienced rosters in the country from Patterson, so we'll see if he can get anywhere close to what he did in '22.

As a head coach, that season was a major outlier for him as he was terrible at Cal and pretty average at SMU.

Total record of 84-65, and 71-63 when he took over TCU.

Forgot to mention the craziest part of that whole thing for me was Dykes never intending for Duggan to play, but Morris gets hurt in Week 1 and Duggan goes on to be a Heisman finalist.
