On3 announced today that the On3 Consensus rankings/ratings will no longer equally weigh all 4 of the big 4 national recruiting sites. Here is the new formula:

Kwtch had a big fat cow over this today on twitter . . . and then got dogged for it.

He keeps saying that all of the sites are relatively the same. They're just not. Nobody turns to OB for new info, nobody posts the war room on non-pay sites. But they sure do post the other sites' content.

They should do away with Rivals and ESPN altogether.

Looks about right. A little generous percentage to rivals, but better than equal weight.

I think that is still too generous to Rivals and ESPN.  It should be On3 and 247 with 45% each and Rivals and ESPN with 5% each.  I haven't looked at ESPN rankings in years and I've never looked at Rivals

Looks about right. A little generous percentage to rivals, but better than equal weight. 

I like it since Rivals in particular has ranked guys way higher just to be different.

For example, having Shanahan from Westlake as a five-star last year.
