Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

Guess he wanted to be an OC pretty badly.
When you hire guys like Marion and Choice you get great coaches that are looking to help the program and advance their careers, the downside of that is they are unlikely to stick around too long.

I would guess Marion must think this is a good career development move, since it seems unlikely to be much of a raise in pay.

Next step up towardsbeing a head coach. With a defensive head coach he can run his offense mostlikely.

I think I’d like someone who can recruit, develop talent, no negative baggage, and no aspirations to ever leave UT.  Go get him Sark!
Is that the first line of your application for the job? If so, you've got my vote.?

Some randomness on the WR coaching search...

- rumor on IT that Sark wants Emmett Jones from Texas Tech

- TFB saying Sark anticipated Marion departing and has talked to Ra'Shaad Samples this week, but is also looking at Justin Johnson from Baylor

- a outside-of-the-box name mentioned is well-known WR trainer Margin Hooks, who played with Sark at BYU and has trained guys like Evan Stewart

IT also mentioned Samples as a candidate, but they are hearing Justin Stepp of South Carolina as well.

He happens to be married to a Texas grad.
