*****ALAMO BOWL GAME THREAD: #20 TEXAS vs. #12 WASHINGTON HUSKIES*****

I'm ready to see what Cam Williams can do at RT.

Agree, we need another option at C. Connor maybe?

Big things for this game:

We really had no run game to speak of. I think Bijan and Roschon would have been very helpful tonight at they covered up a lot of our run blocking issues.

Their run game had a lot more success against us than I expected. We have been pretty elite against the run this year but they have consistent success against us.

Our pass defense kept and explosive Washington pass attack in check most of the night.

D-line got pressure, but Penix is nearly impossible to sack.

He is hard to intercept as well so huge that we got one and nearly a second.

Pass game put up some numbers but was inconsistent and that made it hard to sustain drives.

OL did much better in the second half. I'm sure Flood will figure it out.
Not hard to imagine that the OL will take a huge step forward next year. Our talent is all so young, freshmen or 2nd year guys mostly. Competition for the 5 spots will be fierce this spring and we should have 8 or so guys that we can really feel good about next year.

Pass blocking was pretty good this year, run blocking needs to improve.

Few observations:

Ford should return for another year of seasoning. Have to find someone who can rush the passer. I believe Cain could be a decent third option and hope he stays. KRob is not the full time answer at RB. We need one of the B's to step up and make it their own. Hopefully another year of development will greatly improve our run blocking. Feels like a long time until Spring ball.

Normally when Texas loses I get so pissed I can't see straight. Not with this game. Am I disappointed? Hell yeah. But we saw the re-emergence of Ewers. We saw Sark adjust during half time. At half time how many of you thought it would end as a seven point game?

I don't really like calling out players, but Worthy deserves this one. Especially after all the drama and the switch to #1.

We'll need Blue and Baxter to develop quickly...their power will be needed to complement Robinson and Brooks.
The RB options next year will be Brooks RB1, Baxter RB2, KRob 3rd down option. Blue will transfer, did hey play at all tonight?

I think he (Worthy) has as much if not more to prove than anyone on the offense going into next year. He has all the tools to be a dominant #1 except maybe consistency. Hopefully he returns and that comes with another year of maturity.

The freshman CB looked good.

Ewers looked good.

Worthy had a bad game, no matter what his stats were.

They ran the ball down our throats, but they have 3 seniors on the Oline.

We did not run the ball effectively

They have a good well balanced team

I hate losing

Either way at this point, if he stays or he goes, it doesn't matter to me at this point. If NIL didn't count I would be pulling for him to stay.

Did not watch the game. Apparently was another if and but Nd no fruit and nuts type, like several this year.

And by the way, no one has congratulated the Huskies on this thread. They played a well coached game against us.
Agreed - I was impressed by them and look for them to have a great year next year with their QB back

My son said something early in the year and I now think he may be correct.
“Worthy is the second coming of John Burt”.
or Mike Davis.  I remember Davis having very unreliable hands.  Great top end speed, but also couldn't track the ball very well.
