Texas/Carr vs Texas a&m Commerce

Now they're saying that 33 1st half points ties the record. That's not what they said earlier.

Team is playing really well considering the circumstances.

Carr scored 41 points. It has been since Freeman to have someone reach 40 points or more in a game.

Almost back to back games of 100 points. It's would have been since 2009 to have done that.

Get this type of offense with the defense that they play might just have a special year.

Disu didn't play, but if I heard Lowell correctly he could've played.

Biggest issue was having to listen to Lowell.

Disu was in the pre-game shoot around which is a good sign. Likely just resting him for conference play.

Carr has been a pretty consistent 33% 3 ball shooter his first 4 years in college. He is now up to 44% this season on 74 attempts. He is also shooting over 2 more 3s a game compared to last season.

Is his improved shooting a blip on the radar or does he consistently hit 3s at this improved mark? Could be that his more off the ball guard role is allowing him to catch and shoot more often compared to previously dribbling himself open for a shot.

After Carr, our best 3 ball shooter has been Brock at 40%. He shot 47% last year and has already surpassed his number of shots from last season. Given his expanded role this year, he is likely to knock down a couple of important 3s this year.

After these two Rice and Hunter are the next best shooters at 34 and 32%. Not really anyone other than these 4 I want pulling up for 3.

Carr had himself a game last night. Hopefully he can keep it rolling in conference play. Also important is the continued development of Mitchell. We knew he'd have the highlight reel dunks, but he's continuing to develop as a player, hitting the boards and making some mid-range shots. Also, it seems like the game is starting to slow down for Morris. He's starting to make more shots. We'll definitely need both of these freshmen in conference play.

Agree.  Carr is on a 5 game streak of 20+ points in games.  But what I also liked was that he was keeping his teammates involved on both the offense and defense.  Morris is starting to come into his own in games, believe he led in scoring in the previous game with 25 or so points.
