Common Man Prediction Thread – UT vs Bill Snyder Family Wildcats

I really want to be there with you Hiwood, I really do.  I have the ultimate Longhorn pride and still display ALL of my Longhorn gear and apparel proudly.  With that said, I've fallen for the banana in the tailpipe too many times in the last 13 years and which has me completely unconfident going into this weeks game.  I want to schedule a tee time so  Idon't have to watch, but I will be there in front of the TV at 1pm watching.
Texas has broken my heart more times than all my exes combined, but they are and will always be my team, I wasn't on board with Strong, was lukewarm with Herman, but Im all in with Sark, because I saw him play QB in college, and I have followed his coaching career even with the high and lows... and FTR I have bet against Texas when it comes to a point spread, but I have never bet them to lose in FB

Martinez and Vaughn are going to have a field day against PK's defense. Our offense should keep it close but ultimately tail off in the second half.

K State 42

Texas 31

?

37-20 Kansas State.

Until Sark proves he can win a true road game this team will be a bottom feeder.
Agree, 100%. Our guys have yet to show us they want to win more than the guy standing across the field from them when the game is not against the Bama's and ousux of the world. Winning cannot be just a part time mindset in this game, and unfortunately that's what we have with this team until proven otherwise.

I'll go 41-27 KSU

This is the same team that blew out OU 49-0, held Bama with a MUCH better qb and better overall team to 20 and if I am not mistaken still has the best RB tandem in college football. If not this team, who? If not now, when? Road smoad, I'm saying THIS team, and NOW!!!

Changing my prediction. Horns 38, Purple cats 17.

Texas 31 Kansas State 17

Strength on Strength. Texas Rush Defense against K State rushing offense. K State is last in Big 12 in Passing Offense. BTW OU and Ok State are #9 and #10 in rushing defense in conference. Texas offense will be more than enough on the other side. I for one think this is very favorable matchup for Texas.

I have already earned my steak knifes this season.

Factor in the running QB. We saw one with UTSA. He hurt us. This QB is a much better runner. We will have trouble with this.

Texas 35

KSU 23

Wouldnt surprise me if Devon Campbell gets more snaps than Cole Hutson at RG and possibly becomes the starter the rest of the season.  Hutson has been the lowest graded OL this season so far and Campbell looked a LOT better during the oSu game

I have a slightly different take on this game. Yes, K-State is experienced, but how many times have we seen a team with a huge win, bounce in the polls and then come out flat as a pancake next game. I think UT being unranked helps, also. I definitely think we win the first half! Hopefully we can hold on during the 2nd.

Kstate just crushed oki lite. Our past history of collapsing on the road and a coach who can't or won't make 2nd half adjustments leads me to go ahead and pick the k staters. 38-31.
Sad but very good possibility.

Think about it gents. No one hears more about the on-the-road deficiencies more than Sark and this staff and team. And you're hearing more about it this week than any other (because of the OSU result).

I think they will be looking to change that tune and will have a chip on their shoulder.

The UTSA QB was a better passer, KSU is 10 in Big 12 in passing. Loving my pick, get on board.
Perfect scenario. We load the box to stop Deuce and Martinez. Get burned on several occasions by their wr's and TE's getting behind our elite secondary.

Guys we had a SECOND players meeting this time to focus on the details.
bc of this meeting I am revising my prediction.

Campbell is ready to takeover.  Let’s make the change now.

A few thoughts heading into this game,

Some pundits (including the betting line) seem to favor Texas. I would like to believe this but just can't after the last several road games.

I saw Sark's press conference and don't agree with his thoughts on setting a goal down the road. Don't you have to make sure you pay attention to this week's opponent to get to the CCG? He also seemed to imply the players didn't execute as they should have in the second half. From what the stats tell me it is the coaching that lacks in the second half.

With the buzz that is surrounding improving freshmen, I would love to see Bledsoe, Campbell, Thompson and Brooks get more snaps.
