I didn't have access to the internet yesterday and didn't get to post this during the game. My apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere. Did anyone else see Savion Red get upset at Brennan Marion on the sideline after another missed pass on 3rd down? It looked like he was extremely pissed at Marion almost to the point of getting physical.

Anyone know what that's about?

He was mouthing off at Ewers, apparently because Ewers didn't throw to him and maybe he was open.

Saunders also had a shoulder injury. OSU had 5 starters out the whole game.

Texas has higher ranked players at all positions. Wind blowed for both teams

Only big difference was coaching. Same problemsas last year. Sorry but Texas was out coached again.

Totally agree and I’m struggling to recall a game in Sarks 10-10 UT career that he wasn’t out-coached in besides when OU quit.

I could realistically see just one more win all year.  I’ve been around long enough to see this song and dance before.  Here’s how it goes:

All coaches are allowed one “reset” (CDC’s words).  In other words redo the coaching staff.  If the reset doesn’t work, the head coach is replaced.

Very seldom does said reset work.  Mack Brown did well when he hired Greg Robinson and a host of coaches from Arizona’s Desert Swarm.  But I can’t think of another reset success at Texas.

I’m afraid the clock is ticking on Sark.  Just my opinion.  What we’re seeing won’t be tolerated for long.

I agree with texbound. I hope that Cook has a break that they can put a cast on, and let him play. We missed him in the secondary after he went down.

btw, I love Sark’s simple “No’s”.  It is his way of shutting down reporters without being rude.  There were no more questions about it, were there?

Quinn came back from an injury, showed no ill effects, then was hit in the same spot again.  It’s normal to get be a little nervous about it.

I know, you’re thinking, I’m just a girl.  Right.  Well, guys with ACL and other injuries generally don’t trust them right away.  He came through it, and now he knows it is solid.

btw, for those blaming Ewers and the offense, where did y’all go to football school?  It wasn’t UT, for sure.

The defense fell apart when Cook left the game (Watts, too?).  The last interception hit Sanders right in the hands and bounced off to the OSU defender.  That happens in football sometimes.

Did Ewers have his best day?  No. However, all young quarterbacks have bad days. Remember a redshirt juniors bad day at Kyle Field?  It probably cost him the Heisman. We were just good enough to win anyway.

I think a follow up from a reporter… something like “is there any scenario where you would pull Quinn for inadequate play?” would have been quite appropriate.  Seriously, if 16 overthrows doesn’t trigger the hook, I’m not sure there is a threshold.

I also believe it’s quite appropriate for fans to be upset at the coach for not pulling a kid who is playing very, very poorly.  Say what you want about the interceptions… he played remarkably bad. I truly cannot imagine why Sark would not consider removing a player, any player who was clearly hurting the team’s chances of winning.

If this is true, then what are we to believe about the decision to keep him in all game?

a) Hudson Card has completely lost the ability to play football?

b) Sark thinks Hudson Card has completely lost the ability to play football?

c) Sark thinks Ewers has so fragile a psyche that he can't be even briefly replaced when he has a hand injury that impacts his ability to throw with accuracy?

I get choosing Ewers as the season starter over Card. I get starting him against OSU while still trying to determine whether a hand injury is affecting his throwing. I don't get playing Ewers all game with a hand injury that is greatly affecting his accuracy against a defense that has trouble against mobile qbs."

During warmups. I've since heard it was his pointing finger and Sark said it didn't bother him. For all I know it could just be a BS story trying to provide cover for that debacle?

I can remember quite a few games where a QB is amped and throwing high. Generally the feeling is give him time to get it reeled in, and he'll settle down. If the team is still scoring points a QB is rarely pulled.

Don't forget we had a similar situation last year when Casey got a hand injury during the ou game. We didn't know about it at the time, but Sark let him finish that game as well. As others have mentioned we've seen this across multiple coaches, who as a group are generally reluctant to put in the backup.

24/7 reported he wore a glove in warmups did not see a glove during game. Also was his index finger nail.

Quinn definitely was atrocious against Okie State but the stats don't necessarily indicate a sub-par performance against Iowa State. 

Quinn's QBR for the season is now 76.5 which is good for 21st in the nation. But his QBR of 79.7 in the Iowa State game is still higher than his season average. He has had 2 games worse than the Iowa State game and 2 games better than the Iowa State game. 

His passing efficiency rating for season is now 143.6 which ranks 56th nationally. But that is highly skewed by the 94.7 in the Okie St game. His Iowa State is actually his next to worst game at 159.0, which would be good for 24th in the nation.

Playing for next year.  That’s all I can figure.  Had opportunity to possibly win a game on the road while playing terrible.  And he stayed with the qb that was 38% at the time.

Because he probably knew Card wasn't going to help. Card can't move and their rush was working.

Sark is like all coaches, he does not know what a player can do until he trys him..Be willing to beCard can move pretty well if given a chance to play his game. Which IMO is roll out not stuck in pocket

Ewers is and schould be the starter, but nothing is writen in stone that if having a terrible, he cannot be removed for a series or two.

Absolutely right. We also played with an o-line with 3 freshmen, right?, one soph, and one senior.  As compared to their upperclassmen laden o-line.
