That was a bang bang 50/50 play that could have gone either way with the game's/season's outcome riding on the call. I'd be upset at any coach not fighting for it.

We were lucky that the knee possibly being down before the ball came out was not reviewable, only the targeting. Once you're are a runner things get different for a QB.

Lucky for us also, Dekkers failed to slide. Even more luck, Hutchinson choked on a sure TD drop.
Lucky for them, Cain dropped a sure-fire long gain, if not a TD.  Also lucky for them Ewers missed a couple of open receivers.  The luck goes both ways.

PS.  Hutchinson was falling to the ground when he dropped the ball, so it wasn't necessarily a TD.

From what I am reading so far this morning, it sounds like Sanders could be out this weekend due to his shoulder that was giving him problems before they played TCU.

I'll take it. The luck that we've had the last few years may finally be turning our way. Always want to play the best, but we could use a break specially with the schedule remaining.

Oh absolutely goes both ways. Under 2 minutes remaining is always the ones that count. If Hutchinson runs under that ball he is gone, don't know why he jumped?

Yea I watched Gundy presser, he was very direct in that he didn’t want to talk about if Spencer missed any practices last week. They were very 1 Dimensional and couldn’t run the football. They’ll have issues running against Texas front also. Make no Mistake gunner gundy can sling it. Over 6600 passing yards in HS. Very little college experience but not sure I’d say he is the normal walk on

But even the elite programs don’t do it every game. Georgia had to come from behind against Misery scoring 14 pts in 4th quarter to win by 4. Alabama almost lost to us and A&M.  Sometimes you eat the cheese even if you know your not supposed to. These are kids.
True but I would take the sometime loss like a Bama, Georgia, or Ohio State any day because those teams have been in the chase for natties unlike our predicament with the longhorns.  I would gladly take the Bama titles.

Gunnar is the coach's son?

Edit: Nevermind. I see the answer in other posts.

He turned down Eastern Michigan and Toledo to play for his father, but definitely a great high school QB.

I remember watching him play and his dad would fly in on a helicopter and land to come to his games lol was insane really

Interesting work around for the 85 limit. Gundy can afford to pay Gunner as much as he pleases,  without any issues of improper payments.  Of course coaching your son can can be tricky for team chemistry, so isn't necessarily a good idea.
