If you take a look at the top 5 QB's from 21/22 there are 10 5 stars.

Out of those 10 only 1 will be starting outright, which is Williams. He didn't start til game 5 of his Fr. year.

Chill people, let Sark do his job.

Is it writen in stone mustname asyarter by game one? Game one playthem both should win it with Wright starting.

Same with Ala. play both, two game action then name your starter!

Then come the more important games. IfTexas ever had amust win game it is OU. To me it is now or never.

Both Colt & VY redshirted their freshman years. So the first year you're talking about was actually his 2nd year in the program and his 3rd year was the struggle year. His 4th year would be the one you're saying it clicked for him.

The thing is because Ewers reclassified, last year was basically his redshirt year. If he's the talent we are to believe he is, he's in college for 2 more seasons. So here's the rub. Whoever Sark names, he really needs to stick with them throughout the season. We need some consistency at QB. If it's Card, Sark is basically throwing away 1 of the 2 seasons he likely has with Ewers. Then comes next year, unless Card has done a lot of work in the classroom and plans on grad transferring somewhere else, he's coming back next year. That means Sark either sticks with is starting QB for the 2022 season or he opens up another QB battle for the third year in a row while he's head coach. That doesn't look good for a QB guru. He then has to either bench the QB from 2022 for Ewers or he tells Ewers he's QB2 again & he likely transfers. Either way, it's a messy situation. And if you're Sark, you better hope Card is good enough next year because 8-4 will not look good with all the talent he will have and that Oline group. I want Sark to work out but starting Card will really put him in a tough situation. He has to hit on that guy being THE GUY. If he has that deer in the headlight look again against Bama. Sark can't really go to Ewers the next because it will be a "here we go again" and "why didn't you just start Ewers" from a lot of people. It will put his decision making into question. But if you start Ewers, you will get some turnovers but you will get some wow plays. And there will be plenty of fans & boosters who will forgive some things because it's the young gunslinger learning on the job. And then you don't have the QB controversy next spring. Ewers is your QB1, he will learn more of the playbook and you can get a grad transfer to come back him up if Murphy isn't ready. Ewers may not be ready to full actualize Sark's offense, but if his natural talent has made it where Card hasn't completely pulled away even with an extra year in the system, maybe go with him. But I guess we will see. And maybe Sark will see his prized QB's being coached by someone else in 3 years based off what he decides in a week.
Agree with all of your points...It's gonna be messy picking Card but, I think Sark has to balance that with maybe losing a couple games the first half of the year based purely on Ewers lack of command of the offense. Sark can not afford to go into a losing skid early this year. Clearly the safe political pick for 90% of the fan base is Ewers.

IMO this offense is not going to be a QB driven team..WE have a potential Heisman winner in the backfield, Bijan has to be option 1, he has to get 20 good carries per game, plus maybe getting targeted on passes maybe 2-5 times a game. If we are throwing the ball 40 times game we are losing..I see this offense as the Alabama one with Greg McElroy, we need a general who isn't going to turn the ball over and make the big throw when needed, Bijan's success will keep the heat off of the QB and keep defenses honest, if we aren't using play action on just about every pass play something is wrong..If you think we are going to be slinging the rock all over the field thats not what wins championships

TFB reporting this evening that their sources are split on who the starting QB will be.

CJ Vogel posted the story, thinks Card will be named the starter. Doesn't think Ewers has played up to his hype thus far.

He also thinks Sark will name the starter after the weekend scrimmage.
To add, and for what it's worth, IT believes Card will be the starter if he performs well in tomorrow's scrimmage.

Are you making stuff up again?

People are actually planning this? Rattler/Williams was organic, meaning it just happened and wasn't planned. To plan something like that is pretty pathetic.
If Card is named the starter and struggles against Bama, my hope is Sark rides with him for a while.

I'm probably in the minority and still believe he panicked after Arkansas.

No, not stone, but certainly in Sark's head. He's the one who said a starter would be named sooner than it was last year.

I think you can pretty much write off any game where you're rotating QBs. Its a loss before the opening kick.

I don't think he panicked. Card wasn't playing well, and he put in Thompson, who did play well. Thompson won the job because of his play.

We were too predictable last year, Bijan 1st down, Bijan 2nd down, 3rd and long if it didn't work.

You are correct but I also think we have to run Bijan from an I formation or even a split back formation...the pistol is a horrible formation to run from, every thing is a delay/draw, the back has no room to gain momentum and read what holes are opening, Bijan is great at  seeing the field and hitting the hole quickly and he gets to the outside he is gone, put the QB under center and let #5 do his thing

I had no issue with Card being pulled against Arkansas, but didn't agree with not allowing him a chance to get settled in the following weeks against two horrific defenses in Rice and Tech.

A two game sample size, one of which was his first road game in a wild environment, isn't enough for me as opposed to a situation like benching Gilbert in 2011 when it was clear he was busting after already starting for a full season.

Basically, I hope we're not seeing the same exact template unfold again if Card plays poorly against Alabama, but it may be inevitable as there will undoubtedly be cries for Ewers in that case.

You think people feed Ketch opposite information on purpose just to see him run with it and look stupid.  How can someone be so wrong all of the time and still have a job?
Hard to say on team information, but it's been obvious to me for a few years now he doesn't personally invest in recruiting much anymore.
