A win is a win.  You have to take the bad offense with the good defense especially the last 12 minutes or so.  We got to 20 wins in the regular season for the 1st time in a really long time.  Would like to see Disu become more of a inside player and get more minutes, but will take Cunningham's play.

Wish Jones and Ramey would drive more, but they have the scorers mindset.

Good for this team to get to the 20 win mark in 6 or 7 years.  The defense is the best ive seen in a number of years.  Great help and solid all the way around.  Like everyone, I was hoping this team would be better on offense this year, but it's hard to do that without a true floor general.  It is admirable what Carr is doing, but he is playing out of position out of necessity. Once this team has a true PG, the offense will come.  Please don't read this as a bash on Carr.  Beard is establishing a gritty culture that will only get better and better with quality players.   I like where this program is headed.

I'm sorry, but Dad needs to take a chill pill. No, you don't know more about basketball than a UT head coach. Who knows? Maybe Beard's system might work better if your son had played better.

You knew who the coach was when you brought your son to UT.

He worked 7 years under Bobby Knight and took Texas Tech to a final four and a championship game.  I’m going to go with Chris Beard knows what he’s doing.

He's taking a page from Daddy Foreman.

I didn't watch the game last night (I'll admit I forgot about it) but I just watched the replay on ESPNU. Here are my thoughts.

The Good:

Very good defensive play, especially late in the 2nd half, by the Horns forcing 17 TOs and scoring 30 pts off them while only committing 9 (only 1 in the 1st half) with TCU scoring 15 pts.

14 offensive rebs leading to 12 second chance points. Held TCU to 7 o-rebs and 3 second chance points.

Driving the ball into the lane and scoring inside the arc. Texas, especially Carr and Jones, need to do this more!

24-29 from the FT line while only missing 1 in the 2nd half

The Bad:

1-14 from 3 land shooting 7.1%. When my daughter played in MS, they never shot this bad. Texas hit their first 3 of the game then went 0-fer

TCU shot 53.1% for the game and 50% from 3 land

Very low production from the bench, totaled 2 points

Overall a win is a win. With 3 games left and 2 on the road, it would be sweet if Texas finishes 2-1.

If you're going to go 0'fer from 3-land, best to do it against TCU.

It really was a bad night shooting

A trip to Morgantown is next on the schedule Saturday at 1 p.m..

Horns take on 14-14 West Virginia. WV is struggling. This would be a good chance to get a road win.

We'll return for a Big Monday game with Baylor at the Drum at 8 p.m.

This kid has a smooth looking 3 point shot.  I hope he can come in and help from long range.  We were 1-14 from 3 against TCU.  The top teams in the tournament always have guys that can fill it up from 3.  We haven’t been consistent from 3 in a lot of years.

I watched the game and was convinced 5-8 minutes into the second half we were going to lose. Props to these young men for fighting through a terrible shooting night and pulling out a win.

That's 3 straight games of AJ1 having at least 20 points. What's even more impressive, he wasn't hitting 3's against TCU. This season we've seen him take it to the basket more, which bodes well for the tournament. The more ways he can score, the more headaches he'll create for our opponents.

Cunningham tossed from game with 10:31 left in 1st half. Called for flagrant foul. It was a hard foul, but shouldn't have sent him to the lockeroom.

Texas up 24-15

WV is out in front. We're a little thin down low today (Mitchell out, Cunningham ejected).

Need to get hot again.

Down by 10 now, midway through 2nd half. WV still has Mo on its side. Horns left their basketball team in the locker room at the half.

64-54 WV

Mountaineers have shot 71% from the field in the 2nd half. smh
