2022 Texas Portal News

TFB rated Texas' chances with four portal players today. They are:

Ochua (sp?) from TCU – 9/10 but he won't announce for a while due to having to finish up at TCU this spring.

Mario Williams – 4/10 They are intrigued by the number of plus-factors Texas has in it's favor with Williams. USC is the other possible destination. Williams has history with Riley. Williams is from Florida though, so he might not want to get even further from home.

Drew Sanders – 5/10 (50-50). They think this is a match made in heaven (UT). Sanders will announce at the end of the weekend, or is expected to. Sanders excels in LB pass coverage, which is help UT needs.

Jordan Addison (from Pitt) isn't happening. He is not leaving Pitt. He went on Pitt radio saying that yesterday.

I'd say this is a good thing seeing as they probably wrote it before he's arrived for his visit.

Hard to know how it played out but it could be a case of the squeeky wheel getting the NIL money.
IMO, he would have had a harder than expected time finding a place. I've seen him play QB. It wasn't pretty. Looked a lot different than his HS clips, for sure.

Hornsby should strongly consider a move to WR, if he wants to play football at the next level. He has elite speed, but bargain-basement arm. Hogs need to find a way to get him on the field more. He will go into spring as QB2, but he will be pushed hard. Interesting that Pittman had a zero tolerance portal policy, but he's apparently backed off that now.
