247SportsTexas 'hit a home run' in recruiting pitch to Arch Manning

Arch Manning might be the most sought after quarterback prospect in the Class of 2023. With a last name like Manning, there’s a lot to live up to but he seems like the real deal as schools flock to bring him in for visits.
247Sports Late Kick host Josh Pate is a big fan of one school’s pitch for Manning: Texas. In fact, he thinks they did the best job possible on the initial visit, ahead of head coach Steve Sarkisian’s first year on the job.

However, just because the visit went well, doesn’t mean Texas has to basically up the ante during the regular season.

“I think they hit a home run, I think they are squarely in the mix for Arch Manning,” Pate said on Late Kick. “But eventually, they're going to have to have something tangible. Because there's going to be too much tangible result to be seen from Alabama and the likes of Clemson. Texas has got to get it done. They have to show you something in weeks one and two because if you are to come out of summer on this massive recruiting hype wave and then you start to show product on the field earlier than anyone expected, that starts a snowball effect. That's how you really start to take off in recruiting even in year one under a new staff and that's how incredible things can happen.

“If they stumble, that doesn't mean they can’t eventually get it on track. I’m talking about this class and the 2023 class if you really want to instantly have bang in recruiting, week one against Louisiana, that's going to be a spotlight game for most of the country and in week two at Arkansas, that's going to be a spotlight game for a lot of the country. They have to get it done there because a lot of guys like Arch Manning, even if they want to go to Texas, even if they are enamored with playing for Steve Sarkisian, you don't have to show them national championship wins but you have to show them evidence. You gotta show a reason to buy into the vision you’re pitching.”

According to 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong, Manning and Sarkisian seem to have pretty good chemistry. A good sign for Texas fans and more can be read about the visit HERE.

As a member of the Class of 2023, Manning is a five-star prospect according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He is the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana, the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the class and the No. 3 overall prospect in the class.

Wherever Manning ends up at the next level, the chase for the top quarterback in 2023 is going to be fascinating.

6-6  330 and growing.
Why weren't players this big back when we played? Team I played on had one player over 200 lbs and he was 210. lol

A 6'2, 245 lb Defensive Tackle was considered a good size back then. Is it the Twinkies and Cupcakes? Stubbs BBQ sauce? What is making these monsters? lol

Better nutrition helps I am sure. In the sixties creatine ( spelling) was around . First heard use was by Odessa Permian when Texas High played them in a playoff game.

My best guess is better food and medical care.

Does recent Nevada commit take Browns spot?
