"One of the most controversial criminal justice issues in the 2020 Democratic primary is a “tough on crime” law passed 25 years ago — and authored by current poll frontrunner Joe Biden.

If you ask some criminal justice reform activists, the 1994 crime law passed by Congress and signed by President Bill Clinton, which was meant to reverse decades of rising crime, was one of the key contributors to mass incarceration in the 1990s. They say it led to more prison sentences, more prison cells, and more aggressive policing — especially hurting black and brown Americans, who are disproportionately likely to be incarcerated."

Guys, appreciate the passion and discussion.  I ask that we refrain from the personal attacks.  There is a lot to listen to and learn from each other.  I don’t want anyone leaving with a bad taste in their mouth.  #HookEm

Thoughts on Chuba Hubbard not playing at Oklahoma State because his coach wore a OneAmerica News shirt?

IMO, one of the most pitiful moments in NCAA history. Hubbard cemented the idea that student-athletes are far more athlete than student, if you know what I mean.

OAN is simply a news network that broadcasts from a conservative bent. They employ minority journalists.

So this cannot be a racial thing and apparently it's not. Instead, this is a political thing since the only thing he can complain about OAN is that they are conservative.

If I were Gundy, I'd hand Hubbard a map and let him figure out his next move. But Stillwater wouldn't be an option.

Academia is supposed to be where ALL ideas are welcome to the discussion/debate. But this is like an expectation of a day care, where pupils are more protected/watched than they are taught.

The president at OSU has already caved. If he fires Gundy, he's stupid. If he honors Hubbard's complaint, he's stupid. I see no win here.

Umm idk if the rest of the players are gonna take this non-apology and move on. But Gundy knew he had to get out there fast.

Gundy needs to get a grip, or he's been told he'll be fired if he doesn't succumb to the mob.

Gundy didn't post the photo in question. A company who hosted him on an excursion did. Gundy was on his own private time and wore his own private wardrobe (t-shirt).

Nothing racist about OAN. They've been critical of Black Lives Matter. But hey, who hasn't seen the videos of the chanting death to cops and came out of it thinking "these people are great!" lol

Well, I guess Hubbard did.

Thanks to all for discussing about OAN. I found I do have that network on Uverse and checked it out.

They had some hour long news story about whether hydroxychloroquine was effective or not. Pretty informative. Dr. Lozano in Garland, TX was very persuasive and positive about the drug's outcomes even though she had a difficult time getting pharmacies to fill prescriptions for a while.

It definitely doesn't have the production budget of the larger networks, but I'll check it out from time to time.

Hook'em!
