Mine and a few of my friend's pockets are a little lighter this week.

I don't like it and neither do my friends.

My opinion - Herman isn't cutting it and there is no sign he will.  I saw a red flag last year when Maryland put the wood to us.  A solid Texas team is not supposed to lose to teams like Maryland.  Damn sure not twice in a row and when THIS YEAR we were looking so good in practice.  Remember when I said there was concern whether or not was our offense that good or our defense that bad in our scrimmages?  Now the real concern is not our offense as much as our defense.  Oh, to be sure there is real concern about our quarterbacking, but more about that later.

There is no real meltdown behind the scenes, but that rope got a little shorter.  These are powerful men and are not used to losing.  They want answers and patience is not their virtue. There was two salient question circling about - why didn't Buechele play some and why were Ingram and Watson benched?  There will be some expectations against Tulsa.

Expectations on Tulsa. Humm.

Tulsa = San Jose State last year. We beat them bad and it told us nothing.

What I hope is . . . we correct some things that went wrong and get over some apparent hang ups we have in the offense.

We must run the football. Passing games are built on running games.

Then they should be raising all kinds of hell since over the past 4 years, we do have a losing record.

Just curious when you talk about your friends and these powerful men, what size group are we talking about? Closer to a handful or closer to dozens?

Watson was benched?  He was the back who lost contain allowing the rusher to hit Sam's arm causing the pick and he was the rb carrying the ball on the phantom fumble on our next to last drive correct?  Unless we're referencing having Porter out there, at all as benching on Sam's final game ending pick?.  Ingram I definitely get.

I don't think the expectations were so much about how bad we beat Tulsa (and that is expected), but about the preparation and decision making by the coaches.

Did you get a sense of their expectations beyond Tulsa?  We've got a very tough 4 weeks after Tulsa with USC, TCU, K-State and OU and if there's no improvement from last week I can easily see us going 1-3.

It's got a chance to be very ugly after 6 games. 1-5 or 2-4 is definitely on the table. At this point, I would ecstatic with 3-3.

I examined the schedule and you may have to hold off on the ecstasy. The next three of out of four games after Tulsa are against USC, TCU, and OU. Kyle Murray, Shawn Robinson, and JT Daniels all had good opening games and they were all top rated QBs coming at out high school.. . The other game is at Kansas State and we all know how it plays out when UT goes to Manhattan aganist Bill Synder.

Baylor is a maybe game. Then another great QB at WV and Oklahoma Sate and Mike Gundy.. The last three games are against the teams predicted at the bottom TT, iowa State, and Kansas. This is the first time I saw that were playing Kansas the day after Thanksgiving. How sad.

So, it's back to playing for bowl eligible, is it.

Here's the thing. If UH made the run they made over 2 seaons and beat 5 (6?) ranked teams including FSU and OU... where is that level of play with this bunch of talent?

Is there a problem strapping on that Horn helmet? and TEXAS on the front of that jersey?

And the new 4-game red shirt rule. You can play four games and not lose a year. Cameron Rising needs to get game experience. All three of those QBs should see the field this weekend. Well, why not. Shane for sure.

1 and 6 is very possible, if not probable.
1 and 6 means we lose to Tulsa or Baylor. And I would agree with MBHORNSFAN. That would mean we have a totally inept coaching staff. But I would also add that would mean the level of talent on this team is not anything near what we think it is.

That being said, I think we're going to be 3-3 after 6 games and I don't think we lose to Baylor.

I hope you are right. I don't have much faith after Maryland, the Herman presser, D and O coaches pressers, the injuries, and overall coaching. I could see this team losing to bailer.
