Not Afraid to Say Heard Should Be Playing QB

Ohhh boy!

Losing sucks but some of the reactions from the base are incredible.

Remember when Vince should be moved to receiver? I do.

I respect your opinion but it's way to soon in mine.

Remember Iowa State in 2015? Defenses figured out that if they just spied him the whole game, he was totally ineffective.

Buechele didn't look great--and in my opinion he didn't play as well as his stat line suggests--but calling for the QB's head after he completed 65% of his passes for almost 400 yards in his sophomore year doesn't really make a lot of sense.

NTG, I'm glad you are confident. I'm not commenting on who benefits Texas the most. I'm finished with that, but if Heard has a future in the NFL, it's at WR, not QB.

It would seem a bit selfish to me, but that is just me. To each his own.

Disagree on Heard to QB since he's logged so little time there in the off season.

Shane was hampered by a complete lack of running game and the staff putting too much on his shoulders but unless he plays better, I would not be shocked to see us rolling out a true freshman QB for the 2nd year in a row vs OU.

And not trying to lay 100% of our problems on Shane but he missed some open throws deep that could have seriously changed the offense.   Now not Shane's fault our defense can't tackle or play assignment football.

So why didn't our coaches make the appropriate adjustments in response?

Please explain why we should be more concerned about what his future best position in the NFL might be rather than what his best position to help us would be?

Echeese aren't you the one that normally post the thread with your take on the game with loads of videos etc??? Someone did it last year and believe it was you. If so are ya doin that this year? I enjoyed watching those and seeing all the mistakes. Hell might as well put the whole game on this write up.

You mean like this perfectly thrown pass?

Or maybe you were thinking of this one?

NTG,

Are you really going to use TWO passes to make your case for Heard as a passer? If you are going to cherry pick the highlights then lets make sure you get the lowlights in there as well.

Ryan did the breakdowns with the gifs and video. He will be doing it again for the site this year.

That's a better question for the coaches than anyone on this board. They had as bad of a day as any player on the roster yesterday. The offensive gameplan was a mess from the first snap.

Where was this supposed improvement in both the DL and OL we have been hearing about since fall camp?

Shane didnt make any difference but he had no run game or protection either.  That sack on the very first offensive play (he could have avoided) set the tone.

Shane made the post game comment that Maryland was doing some thing they had not seen before.  Outcoached?

It seemed the coaches were the ones that came in short sighted, over confident and unprepared.   Isnt that supposed to be the one thing about Herman?  His attention to detail and being prepared?

I remember him saying when he was hired "No im not nervous,  the only time you should feel nervous is when you are not prepared."

Well coach you were not prepared.

Ash is the only QB the Horns have had since Colt. Ash was too fragile and therefore couldn't help much. I think the jury is still out on SB.

The first play where Buechele got sacked was on him. Porter was open and it was a short pass. Of course I was at the game and didn't see a replay (nor do I want to) of it but that's what I saw.
