Herman "backtracked" because he'd rather be at UT anyway.

LSU was the Plan B for Herman. Texas saved itself by responding the way it did, when it did. More fumbling, bumbling and stumbling and Herman would have been HC at LSU.

As it is, we got it in gear and made a move. The rest is history.

I don't care about the LSU-Herman thing much. It made for good fodder and was legit info. I'm just glad things worked out the way they did and LSU ended up with Coach O. IMO, he's a better fit there than Herman would have been. He speaks the lingo, whatever that is. I can't understand a word the man says lol
