Oh Aggy, Part Deux

It's the 5th season for aggy in the SEC. 2012 was their first.

Don't you co-branded merchandise, bro? (When did UNC join the SEC?)

they forgot to put the state of texas in there???

agNm has moved over to a conference that still bats .500 in bowl season when playing outside their conference, and apparently not any better when playing outside their conference in a regular season weekend when playing a mix of competitive games.

There is no brand improvement in agNm. Only in their dreams.

I'd like to lodge disagreement with the above statement. These were not competitive games.

Tennessee had to go to OT to beat Appalachian State . . . AT HOME.

South Carolina nipped lowly Vanderbilt 13-10 . . . again, AT HOME.

South Alabama beat Miss State, 21-20. . . at MISS ST

Arkansas had to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat over Louisiana Tech, 21-20 . . AT HOME.

In what was supposed to be a good game between Big 12 and SEC teams, West Virginia made short work of Mizzou, 26-11.

LSU lost to Big 10 middle of the pack Wisconsin by 2.

Kentucky lost to Southern Miss . . . AT HOME.

As far as the conference looking good, Auburn, Bama and Georgia looked good in their wins. Florida was not impressive in beating UMass. Aggy had to go to OT to beat an overrated UCLA . . . AT HOME.

As far as I'm concerned, this conference is Alabama and then everybody else.

Good competition vs competitive games? The difference being teams we feel are not good but the games themselves were

close competition...correct SHA?

Well yea, I guess Slippery Rock against VMI is a "competitive" game. lol

Agree with you here. One little correction: Auburn lost its game to Clemson.

Our Son was considering a degree path that would have likely taken him to A&M.  I wasn't thrilled but was as supportive as I could be.  He went to Collie Station for a visit and stayed with one of his friends.  He came back and looked me square in the eyes and said, "Dad, I just can't do it.  Those people are nutts"  He now has a huge UT flag in his apartment in Dallas where he works :)
Oh, how I know how you felt when he was considering aggy.  My daughter graduated from there.  I told her I have pulled her inheritance. :)

But she went only because she wanted to be a vet and because her boy friend played baseball there.  It was black times in my life, when I had to go to aggy BB games..  I asked her BF, now my son-in-law, why he wasn't good enough to play for Texas?  But I jest.  He is a good man and resisted the brainwashing of the culture - and my daughter knew better.

F'n two-percenters...

:P

that quote is one of the most ridiculous things i've ever read; but yet it came from an aggie, so it makes sense.
I should explain the difference between "aggie" and "aggy".  Years ago I coined the spelling "aggy" instead of "aggie".

The reason being that an "aggie" reflects respect and is one that has a passing knowledge of agriculture and how it applies to the welfare of America.  New Mexico State, for instance, could wear the mantle of "Aggies".

TAMU, on the other hand, only has a remote understanding of agriculture and is really more invested into livestock - sheep in particular.  In fact, most aggy's would be horrified to be associated with agriculture - which means they could care less about crops, horticulture research and the welfare of America.  The closest they come to agriculture is the dirt they bury dead dogs in.  Nay, they spit in the eye of America and as an anti - American cult have not come close to earning the respect of true agricultural colleges and have, instead, been endowed with the humiliating handle of "aggy".  This term being the well deserved equivalent of the "Scarlet Letter".

Try to remember this in the future.

All of the above should cause more than a little anxiety with our game vs. UTEP - AT HOME.

That was you, Doc?

One of the urban dictionary's definitions works, too, IMO.

Aggy
Aggy can mean anything, although it's usually bad. It was originally used to described something annoying, because it came from the word aggravating, but now it has evolved into a a word that can be used as pretty much any adjective, good or bad.
Forms:

Aggy, saggy, mad aggy, mad saggy, agg, sag, mad aggs, mad saggs, agg sag, sag tron (noun),
"Ugh, I hate him! He's so saggy!"

Yep - when I was trying to discourage my daughter from attending TAMU and becoming a pedi like her old man,

her mother discouraged her (she was my lifelong PA) by saying MD's are never at home, die young and drink too much.  She further demeaned me by saying doctors forget half of what they learn, think they know more than smarter nurses and write scrips like 3rd graders.  The final heart breaking nail was - "Besides, do you want to wind up like your father?".

Being in my first year in residency, I can confirm that:

Yea, probably not at home much.

Die young? I hope not :P

Drink too much? Well.... We do have a lot of happy hours :)

Forget half of what we learn? Yes, but always learn it back!

As an intern, I tend to believe that everyone on the ward knows more than I do, and that's a safe way to live life at the start ;)

I do write like a 3rd grader, but yay electronic prescriptions!!

Thankfully she had great influences to counteract whatever they tried to teach her at fish camp!

daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnggggggg.  that's gonna leave a mark.

My daughter is a doc, and she married one. That's not a bad ide since contrary to popular opinion, good nurses probably run the show most of the time. However, I did tell my child that I pitied the first nurse that got lippy with her. Of course, she said, "Oh, Mom!" During residency, second year, I think, a young lazy nurse didn't see to a patients comfort properly, and tried to correct the doc (nurse was wrong). My child, sweet little thing asked her to wait for her at the nurses station in That Voice and told her What would happen if the incident ever was repeated. She then instructed her to get to the patients room and get Whatever they needed. I think that patient had excellent care the remainder of the shift.

I laughed, but never said 'I told you so.'

Wonder how long that nurse lasted. Lazy ones are not good for much & good ones are worth their weight in gold.

Well, bedtime.

Hook 'em!
