Wow, I wasn't expecting that. The report must have been pretty damning. Glad to see Baylor is taking A (as in one) step in making sure this doesn't happen again. But this goes up the board. The buck doesn't stop with the HC.

I must say that I just didn't really have much faith that the Baylor decision-makers would ever have the intestinal fortitude to take the actions they have taken. I thought they would take the old CYA course of action.

that wasn't intestinal fortitude.  they tried every possible way to weasel out of what they had done.  they were boxed in every way it could be done.  done in by themselves.

i'm betting the word was coming down that they were going to be history after the dust settles, and this is their prayer punch to avoid that.

i doubt we're through with this by a country mile.

i've seen some comment that this was decency.  this wasn't decency.  it was a football move.  they thoroughly misunderstood how this nation would respond to something like this.  they truly believe that nothing is remotely as important as college football.  they misjudged and a great big hammer is headed their way.  this is an attempt to lessen the blow and nothing more.

Was just told this. Shouldn't be surprising but it bears quoting

"Expect Briles to be just the first part. There will be hell to pay from a legal standpoint. Noncompliance with title ix is serious stuff. There may even be criminal charges for the coverup. Lots of people looking into it."

Was just floored today when a customer of mine came out and told me Briles was fired. Wow.

Will – hard to believe that Babers news. He's done a LOT of talking up there at 'Cuse. They just put him on the search committee to find their next athletic director. He's invested and it would be awkward if he walked away. That said, nothing surprises me anymore. lol
